Video Warning Messages
The 7.0 places a number of warning messages on the second line of the of the on screen video status display. These
messages remind you that there is “NO VIDEO (signal) PRESENT”, or (Editorial note: other messages controlled by
this setting have yet to be determined). According to the type of input, or your personal preferences, you may wish to
turn these messages on or off. In general, the factory presets have them appear on video source inputs, and they will
not appear on audio only inputs. To change the setting, follow these steps:
From the “Source Edit” menu for the source to be changed, press “Г to move the on screen “Ö“ pointer so that it is
next to the line reading “Video Warning Msg” (figure #xx). Press “Select”.
The cursor block (““) shows the current state of the messages for this input. Use the “Ï“ or “Г button to move the
pointer arrow next to “on” or “off”. Press “Select”, and note that the cursor block will move to confirm your choice.
Press “Exit/OK” to return to the previous menu.
On Screen Display Background Color
The Citation 7.0 is unique among most video controlled products as it permits a choice of background color or
condition for the on screen menus. Where other products offer only white letters on a blue screen, the 7.0 lets you
select from a choice of colors or the incomming video. IN addition, you may choose a different color for different
sources so that they are easily distibguished from one another.
In the “Video” mode, on screen menus appear as white letters over the video signal from your source. This is helpful
when you want to view the program material being played while making audio adjustments to the system. For
example, when the THX “WOW!” disc is being used for setup adjustments, this mode is preferable so that the on
screen instructions may be read to use the WOW! disc’s test signals to the best benefit.
To change the video background color, start at the “Source Edit” menu. Press “Г so that the “Ö“ pointer is next to the
“Background” line. (figure #xx) Press “Select” to the next menu.
Use the “Г and “Ï“ buttons to move the “Ö“ pointer so that it is next to the color desired, to leave the pointer at the
top of the list to have the incoming video appear under the on screen displays. (figure #xx)
Press “Select” to enter your choice. You will immediately note the change in the on screen background color. If the
color selected is not readable, used the “Г and “Ï“ buttons again to find the color that works best.
NOTE: When “Video” is selected as the background, but no video signal is present, the background will
default to blue. This blue background may not be changed.
Press “Exit/OK” when the selection is complete to return to the previous menu.
