Why does my Harman Kardon HK695 Stereo System have static?
    • J
      Jim OwensAug 25, 2025
Static, crackling, or hissing sounds in your Harman Kardon Stereo System can stem from several factors. The monitor may be causing interference, so try turning it off or moving the speaker cables further away. Also, the speaker might be overdriven by an amplified audio source; ensure it's connected to the correct receptacle and that all signal cables are snugly inserted. Check the volume level on the sound card via Windows Volume Control, as it may be too high. To isolate the problem, test the speakers with another audio source like a portable CD player. If the issue persists, set the treble, bass, and surround knobs on the subwoofer to their center positions.

If your Harman Kardon Stereo System isn't powering on, first, ensure the wall outlet or power strip has power and that all related switches are turned on. Toggle the power switch on the system itself. If it still doesn't work, replace the fuse located on the back of the subwoofer between the power cord connector and the power switch. Use a screwdriver to turn a quarter turn in the direction indicated by the arrow. A spare fuse was supplied with the product, attached to the AC cord. Refer to the specification section for fuse details.

    • T
      tfoxSep 4, 2025
If your Harman Kardon Stereo System is experiencing radio frequency interference, the input cable may be picking up interference. Try wrapping up any excess input cable to make it as short as possible. You can also purchase a ferrite clamp and attach it over the input cable to reduce interference. These clamps are available at most local electronics stores.

How to stop Harman Kardon HK695 hum with stereo soundcard?
    • M
      Matthew StewartSep 8, 2025
If your Harman Kardon Stereo System emits a loud hum or buzzing noise when used with a stereo soundcard, it may be because the redundant rear (black) audio connector is not protected by the rubber cover and is touching the computer system. Replace the rubber cover or otherwise insulate the rear audio connector to prevent it from contacting any metallic surfaces.
