SYMPTOM
Unit does not function when Power On Switch is
pushed.
Display lights, but there’s no sound.
There is sound on only one side, or the sound is
distorted.
The MS 100 does not respond to remote com-
mands.
The tuner is buzzing intermittently.
No video image.
•MakesuretheACpowercordissecurelypluggedintoanunswitched
outlet. If the “PROTECT” message appears, turn off the MS 100 and unplug it.
Do not use it without first bringing it to an authorized Harman Kardon service
center for inspection.
•PresstheMuteButtontomakesurethesystemisnotmuted.
•Turnupthevolume.
•Checkthatthecorrectsourcewasselected.Ifthesourceisan
external device, make sure it is plugged in, turned on and playing,
and that it is properly connected to one of the auxiliary inputs.
•Iftheheadphonesareinuse,unplugthem.
•Theremaybeaproblemwithoneofthebuilt-inspeakers.BringtheMS100to
an authorized Harman Kardon service center for inspection and service.
•Thebatteriesintheremotecontrolmayrequirereplacement.
•TheIRsensormaybeblocked.Thesensorislocatedinthemiddle
of the front grille, about 25mm above the CD slot.
•Adjusttheplacementoftheantennatoimprovereception.
•Checkthattheantennaissecurelyconnectedtotherear-panel
terminal.
•CheckthattheTVissecurelyconnectedtoeithertheS-VideoorComposite
Video Output, but not both.
•VideoisonlyavailablewhenthedockfortheiPodhasbeenselectedasthe
source, and then only when a compatible iPod model that is capable of video
browsing is docked.
•TheTVOutsettingontheiPodmustbeturnedon.
•TheremustbephotoorvideocontentstoredontheiPod.
•SelectthecorrectvideoinputontheTV.
•Toviewphotos,pressthe
Button three times.
