Ensure the device is not left unattended near small children
or people who cannot operate the device unaided. It pre-
sents a choking hazard. Children could swallow small parts.
Replace the single-use protective cap after each use when
taking ear temperature measurements to ensure a precise
measurement and to prevent cross-contamination. A sing-
le-use protective cap is not needed for forehead tempera-
ture measurement.
The ear thermometer may only be used with single-use pro-
tective caps by HARTMANN as other single-use protective
caps may cause measuring errors. Once the single-use pro-
tective caps originally supplied with the device have been
used up, please contact your specialist dealer or customer
service to purchase replacement products.
The thermometer is NOT waterproof. Please avoid direct
contact with water or any other liquids.
Do not expose the device to hard knocks or vibrations. Do
not use the device if it is obviously damaged.
Please ensure prior to every measurement that the lens of
the sensor is clean, free of grease and undamaged.

The device must not be opened, dismantled or repaired by
the user.
Do not interpret measured values yourself and do not use
them to self-prescribe treatment.
In addition to the actual temperature value, also inform
your doctor whether it was taken from the forehead or the
ear.
Self-diagnosis based on these temperature readings or
administering treatment on their basis may carry an unac-
ceptable medical risk or even worsen the symptoms. Follow
the instructions provided by your doctor.
Using the device does not replace medical treatment in any
way.
A high temperature or persistent fever requires medical
treatment, especially in small children. Please consult your
doctor.
