mini-labs) automatically compensates
for this to a
greater
extent
in
the
print. Therefore, when
using
negative film and with the lens stopped
down,
there
maybe no need to use a centre filter.
The onlyway to eliminate light fall-off at the corners is
to reduce the amount of exposure
at
the centre
of
the
image. The
Centre
filter XPan works
by a concentration
ofneutral density at the centre and a
progressive
reduc-
tion of
density
towards the outer edge. The effect at the
centre
ofthe filter
corresponds to a 1 f-stop reduction
in exposure.
The filter
is
multi-coated
to ensure
high
anti-reflection
quality.
No degradation in MTF is
seen and there is no
shift in
focus.

Photographers normally

the

has
been
removed
when making exposures.Aflashing red

not have
a TTL viewing system it
will
be difficult to

Regularly
check that the controls are

you
take a

example,you may
have
set
the camera at ASNISO

for
a

have
forgotten
to
reset
the

Or
perhapsyou
have inadvertently
moved

owing to the
