Usage Features
The lawnmower is designed for ease of assembly and operation.
- Assembly: The lower and upper handles are assembled by inserting them into supports and securing them with screws, knobs, and bolts. The power cord is fixed to the handle using cord clips. The grass collection box is assembled by clipping its upper and lower halves together and then fitting the handle. Finally, the grass collection box is hooked into position by lifting the safety rear flap.
- Connecting to Power: An extension cord suitable for outdoor use and protective against splashing water is recommended (rubber insulated 60245 IEC53 or polyvinyl chloride insulated 60227 IEC 53, ≥ 1.5mm²). Always use an RCD-protected supply.
- Cutting Height Adjustment: The lawnmower offers three cutting height adjustments (25/45/65mm). To adjust, release the start lever, disconnect from power, pull out the rear and front shafts, and place them into the desired slot. Ensure both shafts are at the same level and click back into place. For high grass, it's recommended to start with the maximum height and then make a second cut at a lower height.
- Grass Collection: The 30L grass collection box should always be attached during operation. It features a grass full indicator that floats when empty or partially filled and falls down when full. The box should be emptied frequently, ideally when half full, to maintain performance.
- Switching On/Off: To start, press the lock-off button (1) and then pull the switch lever (2) towards the handle. Release the lock-off button once the product is running. To switch off, release the switch lever. The cutting device will continue to rotate for a short period after switching off.
- Mowing Technique: Mow in daylight or good artificial light, avoiding wet grass. Always ensure good footing on slopes and walk, never run. Mow across slopes, not up and down, and exercise caution when changing direction. Do not mow excessively steep slopes. Use extreme caution when reversing or pulling the product. Stop the blades for transportation or when crossing non-grass surfaces. Do not tilt the product when starting the motor unless necessary, and only lift the part furthest from the operator. Keep hands and feet away from rotating parts and the discharge opening. Do not transport the product while connected to mains power. Stop the product and remove the plug before leaving it unattended, clearing blockages, or unclogging the chute. Never cut more than one-third of the grass length for a healthy lawn. Mow in slightly overlapping, straight rows. Circle around flower beds.
- Safety: Always wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including eye protection, ear protection, respiratory equipment, safety boots, and gloves. Avoid loose clothing or jewellery. The appliance should not be used by children or young people under 16, or by anyone unfamiliar with the instructions. An RCD is mandatory for mains supply connection.
Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is crucial for safe operation and prolonging the product's life.
- General Maintenance: Always switch off, disconnect from power, and allow the product to cool before any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning. Keep the product clean by removing debris after each use and before storage. Inspect for worn or damaged parts before each use and do not operate if any are found. Only qualified specialists should perform repairs beyond the scope of these instructions.
- After Each Use: Clean the product with a dry cloth and a brush for hard-to-reach areas. Clean air vents with a cloth and brush. Remove stubborn dust with high-pressure air (max. 3 bar). Check for damage or wear and repair as per instructions or take to an authorised service centre. Do not use chemicals, alkaline, abrasive detergents, or disinfectants. Do not spray with water, as it can damage the switch unit and motor.
- Underbody and Cutting Device: Keep the underbody and cutting device clean. Periodically check nuts and bolts for tightness. The cutting device (blade) will wear over time, especially in sandy conditions, reducing efficiency. Replace worn or damaged blades with a new one of the same type (part number 1466ZE0051). Blades should be replaced after 50 hours of mowing or 2 years, whichever comes first. Lubricate the cutting device with light machine oil after each use.
- Replacing Blades: Always unplug the lawnmower and wear gardening gloves. Loosen the bolt anticlockwise with a wrench to remove the cutting device. Reattach the new blade, ensuring correct alignment, and tighten the bolt clockwise to 16-20 Nm.
- Power Cord: If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons.
- Storage: Clean the product, store it and its accessories in a dry, frost-free place, inaccessible to children (ideal temperature 10°C to 30°C). Use original packaging or a suitable cover to protect against dust. Fold the upper handle for compact storage.
