systemandpumpcontrolsmustbeinoffpositionandfilter
manualairreliefvalvem ustbeinopenposition.
· Beforestartingsys tempumpallsystemvalvesmustbesetina
positiontoallowsyst emwatertoreturnbacktothepool.Do
notchangefiltercontrolvalvepositionwhilesystempumpis
running.
· Beforestartingsys tempumpfullyopenfiltermanualair relief
valve,donotclosemanualairreliefvalveuntilasteadystream
ofwater(notair orairandwater)isdischarged.

Failuretofollowsafety andoperationinstructionscouldresult
inviolentseparationoffi ltercomponents.
· Upperandlowerfilterbodiesmustbeproperlysecuredwith
filterbodyclamp.
· Beforeservicingpoolandspacirculationsystem,manualair
reliefvalvemustbeinopenposition.Donotoperatepooland
spacirculationsystemifasystemcomponentisnotassembled
properly,damagedormissing.
· Donotoperatepoolandspacirculationsystemunlessfilterair
reliefvalvebodyisinlocked“LOCK”positioninfilterupper
body.

REMOVINGTHEMANUALAIRRELIEFVALVE
YourFiltercomeswiththeManualAirReliefValve(MAR)pre
installedfromthefactory.Onlyqualifiedpool professionals
shouldserviceyourfilter’sManualAirReliefValve.For
Qualifiedpoolprofessionalsonly:IffilterMARvalveneedsto
bereinstalled,followthisinstructioncarefully.
1. ShutoffPump
2. OpenMARValvetoopenpositi ontorelievepress ure.
3. GrasptheMARbodyattheflats,turntheMAR
counterclockwise(asthearrowindicated)untilthenotchonthe
ontheMARflangeisalignedwit hthe“UNLOCK”positionas
shownonthefilterhead.
4. PullouttheMARcarefully.
REINSTALLATION
1. AlignthenotchintheMARFlangewithnotchontheMARpart
ofthefilterh ead.
2. TurntheMARclockwise( asthearrowindic ates)untilthenotch
isalignedwiththe“LOCK”positionasshownonthefilt erhead.
3. Closefilterdrain.
4. Openallsystemvalvest oallowwaterflowfromfiltertopool
andpoolt opump/filtersystempriortostartingsystem.
5. Openfiltermanualairreliefvalvetofullopenpositiontoallow
airevacuationf romfilterduringsystemstartup.
6. StandClearofsystemduringsystemstartup.
7. Closefiltermanual airreliefvalvewhenasteadystreamof
water,notairandwatermix,isdischargedfromfiltermanualair
reliefvalve.
