What to do if my Heat Controller EKTC07-1G is not cooling or heating room?

      Jonathan WilliamsAug 12, 2025
If your Heat Controller Air Conditioner isn't cooling or heating the room, first ensure that curtains, blinds, or furniture aren't blocking airflow. Then, adjust the temperature setting to be lower for cooling or higher for heating. Clean the filters, and allow the unit sufficient time to heat or cool the room, starting early before extreme outdoor temperatures or gatherings make the room uncomfortable. Ensure the vent door is closed and check the dipswitch settings. Note that the compressor takes approximately 3 minutes to start.

If your Heat Controller Air Conditioner doesn't start, check that the plug is securely in the wall receptacle and that the plug hasn't tripped (it has a test/reset button). Replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker. Ensure the unit is turned on using the bottom right button on the keypad. A green LED indicates the unit is on, red indicates it's off. No LED indicates a power problem or control damage. Also, check the dipswitch settings.

Why does ice form on the indoor coil of my Heat Controller Air Conditioner?
    • W
      williecookAug 27, 2025
If ice or frost forms on the indoor coil of your Heat Controller Air Conditioner, it could be due to a low outdoor temperature (around 55°F or below) when the unit is in cooling mode. Switch the unit to FAN operation until the ice or frost melts. Dirty filters can also cause this issue, so remove and clean them.
