How to troubleshoot slow or non-existent shaft rotation in a Helac Controller?
    • M
      Michael GarzaAug 2, 2025
If the Helac Controller shaft is rotating slowly or not at all, first check if the operating pressure is correct, ensuring you do not exceed the OEM's pressure specifications. Also, verify that the load is not above the actuator's maximum capacity. Another potential cause is a low rate of fluid flow. Inspect the ports for any obstructions and check the hydraulic lines for restrictions and leaks.

Why my Helac L10-3.0 cannot maintain the selected position?

      Kyle HamiltonAug 11, 2025
If a selected position cannot be maintained on your Helac Controller, there are several potential causes. First, a control or counterbalance valve may have an internal leak. To check this, disconnect the hydraulic lines and bypass the valve, leaving the valve ports open. Then, operate the actuator through the housing ports, ensuring you do not exceed the OEM's operating pressure. If you observe a steady flow of fluid coming from the valve ports, the valve needs replacement. Another possibility is a piston and/or shaft seal leak. Remove the plug and the housing's valve ports, then operate the actuator through the housing ports. Finally, air in the actuator can cause this issue. Purge the air from the actuator.

Why Helac Controller shaft will not fully rotate?
    • D
      Douglas AllenAug 22, 2025
If the shaft of your Helac Controller will not fully rotate, it could be due to the port fittings obstructing the piston during its stroke. Check the thread length of the port fittings, ensuring they do not reach inside the housing bore.
