8.3 Wheel Brake
The wheel brake is the internal expansion hydraulic type consisting of brake
shoes, springs, operating cylinder and adjuster and backing plates. Two wheel brakes
are provided o each end of the front axle. The brake shoe, one end of it being
connected to the anchor pin and the other to the adjuster, is stressed on the backing
plate by the spring and spring pull rod. The primary shoe is provided with the parking
pull rod while the secondary shoe with the adjusting lever of the clearance self-
adjuster. See Fig.8-2 and 8-3.
