- Mstar Tool Upgrading: This method is used for more complex upgrades, especially when the TV crashes or SecureCRT shows no print message. It involves using a USB-serial port cable to connect the TV to a PC.
- Open UART serial: Access the Factory MENU -> Options -> Uart -> on.
- Mstar USB-serial driver: Install the Mstar debug tool and its driver on a Windows XP system.
- SecureCRT: Use SecureCRT for printing information and managing the upgrade process.
- Steps: Run SecureCRT.exe, power on the TV, and then use the SecureCRT tool to print information.
- Distribution of three status: Mboot status, Supernova status, and no program status for eMMC board.
- Log files: Collect log files by powering on the TV with AC power.
- Mstar Tool upgrading: This tool handles two states: TV board with Mboot software and TV board without Mboot software.
- Device ID: Connect the board with PC via Hisense debug tool (MSTVTool4.163) and ensure the button connected correctly. The device ID can be obtained by clicking "Show DeviceID" button.
- Deciphering: Send the device ID to the IC developer (max-sc.lv@mstarsemi.com, security@mstarsemi.com) to receive the feedback of ID password.
- Store Device ID: The password.txt file contains the device ID.
- Flash Update Mode: Use the MStar TV System Tool to enter the password and then select "Flash Update Mode."
- eMMC Update: Click "eMMC" then "More>>" and load four burning files. Set the I2C speed to roughly 192KHz.
- Run Button: Return to "eMMC" and click the "RUN" button.
- Mboot Software Update: If the TV board has no Mboot software, run SecureCRT, AC power on the TV, and then close the SecureCRT window. Copy the "upgrade_loader_no_tvcertificate.pkg" file to the USB root disk. Press "enter" keypad and AC power on the TV, then appear mboot interface. Maintenance Features
Precautions and Notices:
- Safety First: Always prioritize safety. Before servicing, read the safety precautions in the manual.
- Authorized Parts: Use only manufacturer-specified replacement parts. Use of non-authorized parts voids the manufacturer's warranty.
- Qualified Technicians: Proper service and repair should be performed by qualified technicians experienced in Hisense equipment.
- Electrostatic Discharge (ESD): All ICs and many other semiconductors are susceptible to ESD. Handle with care to prevent damage. Use anti-static table mats and properly ground wrist straps.
- Power Disconnection: Always disconnect the power cord from the AC outlet before replacing parts or modules.
- Electrical Shock Prevention: Use a properly grounded 3-prong outlet or extension cord to prevent electrical shock.
- Replacement Parts: Ensure replacement parts are required and have the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorized substitutions may result in fire, electric shock, or other hazards.
- Safety Regulations: After a repair, the set must be returned to its original condition.
- Cable Routing: All wire harnesses and flex cables must be properly routed and secured with factory tape and/or mounted cable clamps.
- Insulation: All cables and connectors must be properly insulated and should not have any bare wires/lead exposed.
- Voltage Supply: Do not supply a voltage higher than that specified for the product to avoid damage or fire.
- Humidity: Do not use this product in high humidity areas or where water could enter or splash into the unit. High humidity and water can damage the product and cause fire.
- Foreign Substances: Do not allow foreign substances (such as water, metal, or liquid) to get inside the panel module. Immediately turn off the power if this occurs.
- Smoke/Abnormal Smell: If the product emits smoke or an abnormal smell, immediately turn off the power.
- Power Cable: Do not pull out or insert the power cable from/to an outlet with wet hands. Do not damage or modify the power cable. If the power cable is damaged or the connector is loose, do not use the product.
- Power Connector: If the power connector or the connector of the power cable becomes dirty or dusty, wipe it with a dry cloth.
- Cart/Stand/Tripod/Bracket: Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus.
- Moving the Apparatus: When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
Safe Handling of LCD Panel:
- Work Procedures: Follow the Note indication for ensuring the safety of the product and servicing work.
- Working Space: Before starting work, secure a sufficient working space.
- Power Off: Always turn off the POWER Button and disconnect the power cable from the power source of the TV during servicing.
- PC Board Protection: To prevent electric shock and breakage of the PC board, start servicing work at least 30 seconds after the main power has been turned off.
- Handling Components: While the main power is on, do not touch any parts or circuits other than the ones specified.
- High Voltage Power Supply Block: If any connection other than the one specified is made between the measuring equipment and the high voltage power supply block, it can result in electric shock or trip the main circuit breaker.
- Packing Carton: When installing the LCD module in, and removing it from the packing carton, be sure to have at least two persons perform the work.
- Cushioning Materials: When the surface of the panel comes into contact with the cushioning materials, be sure to confirm that there is no foreign matter on top of the cushioning materials before the surface of the panel comes into contact with the cushioning materials. Failure to observe this precaution may result in the surface of the panel being scratched.
- Heat Sink/Transformer: Handle the circuit board by holding the large parts such as the heat sink or transformer. Failure to observe this precaution may result in the occurrence of an abnormality in the soldered areas.
- Circuit Boards: Do not stack the circuit boards. Failure to observe this precaution may result in problems resulting from scratches on the parts, the deformation of parts, and short-circuits due to residual electric charge.
- Servicing Verification: Perform a safety check when servicing is completed. Verify that the peripherals of the serviced points have not undergone any deterioration during servicing. Also verify that the screws, parts and cables removed for servicing purposes have all been returned to their proper locations in accordance with the original setup.
