Overview

This document is an operation manual for a Hisense washing machine, providing comprehensive instructions for its use, maintenance, and installation. It covers various aspects from initial setup to troubleshooting, ensuring users can operate the appliance safely and efficiently.

Function Description

The Hisense washing machine is designed for domestic use, capable of washing various types of fabrics including cottons, mixed fibres, easy care/synthetics, wool, and handwash items. It features multiple wash programs and allows for the use of different detergents and additives to achieve optimal cleaning results. The machine is equipped with an imbalance detection and correction system to ensure stable operation during spin cycles. It also includes safety features such as a child safety lock and an emergency door opening mechanism in case of power outage or other special circumstances. The appliance is designed to adapt its program time based on factors like load size, foam formation, and water temperature, providing an efficient and customized washing experience.

Usage Features

Before the first wash cycle, it is recommended to run a short cycle without laundry to remove any residual water from manufacturing tests. Users should sort laundry by fabric type, care label symbols, and colour, separating white and coloured items. It's advised to wash new coloured articles separately to prevent colour bleeding. For optimal washing efficiency and distribution, items of different sizes should be loaded together. Delicates, small items, and items with hooks should be placed in a cloth bag or pillow case with a zip to prevent damage. All pockets must be emptied, and fasteners like zips, buttons, and hooks should be closed, while loose belts or ribbons should be tied. Stains like blood, milk, and eggs are typically removed by the automatic enzyme phase of the program. For other stains like red wine, coffee, tea, grass, and fruit, a stain remover can be added to the main wash chamber of the detergent dispenser, and heavily-soiled areas can be pre-treated. Only dyes suitable for washing machines should be used, following the manufacturer's instructions.

The washing machine requires high-efficiency, low-foam detergent suitable for front-load machines. The choice and dosage of detergent depend on the fabric type, colour, wash temperature, degree, and type of soiling, as well as water hardness. Too much detergent can lead to excessive foam, reducing washing efficiency and potentially preventing spinning, while insufficient detergent can result in grey laundry and calcification of the heating system. The detergent drawer has three chambers: one for prewash/soak detergent, one for main wash detergent, stain remover, and water softener, and one for fabric softener. Liquid detergents can be used for programs with prewash, but powder detergent must be used for the main wash in such cases. Liquid detergents should not be used with the "Start Delay" function. For highly concentrated detergents, a special detergent ball or bag should be placed directly inside the drum. Descaling agents, bleaches, or dyes must be suitable for washing machines, and solvents like turpentine or benzine should never be used.

The appliance features an emergency door opening mechanism accessible via the drainage pump door. This should only be used when the machine is not operating, the inner barrel has stopped turning, the temperature is not high, and the water level is below the clothing inlet. If the water level is high, it should be drained first.

Maintenance Features

Regular care and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of the washing machine. The appliance exterior and control panel can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth and a little neutral (non-abrasive) detergent, then dried. The door seal should be cleaned with a damp cloth periodically.

The detergent dispenser needs regular cleaning. To do this, press the release lever in the main wash compartment, remove the drawer, remove the siphon in the softener slot, wash all parts under running water, then refit the siphon and the drawer.

The filter should be checked and cleaned regularly, at least two or three times a year, especially if the appliance is not draining properly, fails to perform spin cycles, or if the pump is blocked by foreign objects like buttons, coins, or safety pins. Before cleaning the filter, ensure the water has cooled. To access the filter, stop the appliance, unplug it, insert a removal tool into the small opening of the bottom baffle, and press it downward to open. Then, place a flat container under the filter door, drain any residual water using the emergency drain pipe, loosen the filter anticlockwise, and remove it. Clean the filter and its chamber, check that the pump rotor moves freely, then re-insert and screw the filter clockwise as far as it goes, and reinstall the plinth.

The water supply hose should be checked regularly for brittleness and cracks and replaced if necessary with a new hose of the same type. The mesh filter for the water connection also requires regular checking and cleaning. To clean it, close the tap, loosen the inlet hose on the tap, clean the internal mesh filter, and screw the hose back. Then, unscrew the inlet hose on the rear of the washing machine, pull off the mesh filter with universal pliers, clean it, refit it, and screw the inlet hose back on. Finally, turn on the tap and ensure all connections are water-tight.

Troubleshooting guidance is provided for various issues, including the machine not starting, indicator lamps flashing, the appliance stopping during a program, detergent residue, machine vibrations, and poor spin results. Fault codes displayed on the screen, such as "F01" (water inflow fault), "F03" (drainage fault), "F13" (door lock fault), "F14" (door unlock fault), "F24" (overflow or too much foam), "F04-F98" (electronic module fault), and "Unb" (unbalance alarm), are explained with corresponding solutions. If problems persist after attempting the suggested remedies, users are advised to contact After-Sales Service.
