Why is my Hitachi RAS-18SH3 filter cleaning not starting?

  The filter cleaning operation might not start due to several reasons. In basic cooling operation, it won't start even if you press the (MANUAL CLEAN) button. Also, it won't restart during or within 5 minutes after a cleaning operation to protect the device. Check if 'filter cleaning operation prohibited' is set and return to the filter cleaning operation setting. Ensure that the micro mesh stainless filter, dust catcher, filter cleaning wiper, and wiper cover are correctly installed. Lastly, filter cleaning is skipped if the unit is stopped by the Sleep Timer or Off Timer, but it will occur approximately once a week.

  If the cleaning unit stops halfway, ensure that after filter cleaning wiper maintenance, the cleaning unit is returned to the right end part using the remote controller. Also, check if the micro mesh stainless filter, dust catcher, filter cleaning wiper, and wiper cover are correctly installed. The (CLEAN) indicator will light for 4 seconds and then turn off for 1 second if there is a problem.

Why does my Hitachi RAS-18SH3 Air Conditioner make noise during filter cleaning?

  During the filter cleaning operation, several noises are normal. A whirring motor noise comes from the cleaning unit's motor. A clapping noise is generated when the dust catcher collects dust or when it's turned over by the cleaning unit. Also, a sweeping sound occurs when the cleaning unit sweeps the dust.
