Function Description

The Hitachi RPI-(2.0-6.0)FSN3E series units are ducted indoor units designed exclusively to supply air conditioning to people in one or more rooms within the installation range of the system. They are not intended for other purposes such as drying clothes, cooling food, or any other process requiring cooling or heating. The units are equipped with a fan, heat exchanger, expansion valve, and an electrical control box to manage operation. They feature a drain pump mechanism for condensate removal.

Drain Pipe: Polyvinyl chloride pipe with a 32 mm outer diameter, installed with a downward pitch of 1/25 to 1/100.
Static Pressure Settings: Three options are available: High, Medium (Factory setting), and Low static pressure. For RPI-3.0FSN3E, an extralow speed (v5) is available for very short ducts, reducing noise.
Electrical Wiring: Single-phase connection (without electric heater). Requires twisted shielded pair cable for transmission wires between indoor and outdoor units, with the shielded part connected to the earth screw in the electrical box.
Mounting: Suspension bolts (M10 or W3/8) are recommended for mounting.

Usage Features

Air Distribution: The unit should be installed in a suitable location to ensure uniform air temperature in the room, considering the air discharge flow and avoiding obstacles. For installations higher than 3 meters, a fan is recommended for uniform air distribution.
Static Pressure Adjustment: The fan motor can be configured for high, standard, or low static pressure conditions via the remote control switch (RCS). For RPI-3.0FSN3E, an extralow speed (v5) setting is available for very short ducts to reduce noise.
Air Suction Direction Change: The air suction direction can be modified by changing the back cover direction.
Remote Control: The unit is controlled via a remote control switch (PC-ART). DIP switches on the electrical control box allow for setting the unit number, capacity code, refrigerant cycle number, and remote control selection.
Safety Devices: The unit is fitted with safety devices. It is crucial not to handle or adjust these devices, as it may lead to serious accidents.
Environmental Considerations: The product should not be mixed with general household waste at the end of its life and must be retired according to local or national regulations. The refrigerant, oil, and other components require dismantling by a professional installer.

Maintenance Features

Air Filter Servicing: The unit is supplied with a standard air filter on the suction side. The air filter can be removed by unscrewing three screws from the stay support and pulling it down. If a suction duct is applied, it is recommended to place the air filter at the inlet point of the suction duct, removing the unit's standard filter.
Condensate Drain Check: After drain piping and electrical wiring, it is essential to check that water flows smoothly. This involves pouring approximately 1.8 liters of water into the drain pan to activate the float switch and drain pump, ensuring no water leakage.
General Maintenance: Maintenance and inspection work must be carried out by qualified service personnel using appropriate tools and resources.
Leak Safety: The system fitter and specialist must provide anti-leak safety in accordance with local regulations.
Room Ventilation: It is recommended to renew the air in the room and ventilate every 3 or 4 hours.
Insulation: Drain piping requires insulation if installed in a location where condensation may form, to prevent damage from dripping water. The insulation must ensure vapor sealing.
Drain Trap: A drain trap should be installed next to the indoor unit, designed for good practice, and checked with water for correct flow.
