Overview

The DPT-3wire Eight Range Model is a differential pressure transmitter designed for various applications, offering eight jumper-selectable measuring ranges and individual temperature compensation. It is available in two models: DPT2500-R8 and DPT7000-R8, with options for a display (-D) and an autozero element (-AZ).

Function Description:

The device measures differential pressure in air and non-aggressive gases. Its core function is to convert the measured pressure into an electrical output signal (0-10 VDC or 4-20 mA), which can then be used for monitoring or control systems. The "R8" in the model name signifies its capability to provide eight different measuring ranges, selectable via internal jumpers, making it versatile for various pressure measurement needs. The optional autozero element (AZ) enhances long-term stability by automatically adjusting the zero point, eliminating the need for periodic manual zeroing and compensating for the long-term drift of the piezoresistive sensing element.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Measuring Element: Piezoresistive.
  • Response Time: Selectable between 0.8 seconds and 4 seconds via a push button.
  • Bursting Pressure:
    • Model 2500: 30 kPa
    • Model 7000: 80 kPa
  • Accuracy from Range: ±1.5% or (±6 Pa <250 Pa), including general accuracy, temperature drift, linearity, hysteresis, and repetition error.
  • Long-Term Stability (typical 1 year):
    • With AZ: ≤ ± 1 Pa
    • Without AZ (Model 2500): ≤ ± 8 Pa
    • Without AZ (Model 7000): ≤ ± 24 Pa
  • Electrical Interface (3-wire):
    • Supply Voltage: 24 VAC or VDC (Max. tolerance ±10%)
    • Power Consumption: < 1.0 W (<1.5 W with Iout 20mA)
    • Output Signal:
      • 0-10 VDC (Load R minimum 1kΩ)
      • 4-20 mA (Maximum load 500Ω)
  • Materials:
    • Housing: ABS
    • Cover: PC

  • Ambient Humidity: 0 to 95% RH
  • Protection Standard: IP54
  • Conformance: Meets CE marking requirements (EMC directive 89/336/EEC, Rohs Directive 2002/95/EY).

Measuring Ranges (Jumper Selectable):

Model 2500 Model 7000
-100...+100 Pa 0...1000 Pa
0...100 Pa 0...1500 Pa
0...250 Pa 0...2000 Pa
0...500 Pa 0...2500 Pa
0...1000 Pa 0...3000 Pa
0...1500 Pa 0...4000 Pa
0...2000 Pa 0...5000 Pa
0...2500 Pa 0...7000 Pa

Usage Features:

  • Jumper Selectable Ranges: Users can easily select one of the eight available measuring ranges by setting internal jumpers (Jumper 1, Jumper 2, Jumper 3) according to the desired range, as detailed in the installation section. This flexibility allows a single device to be adapted to various application requirements.
  • Response Time Adjustment: The response time can be changed between 0.8 seconds and 4 seconds by briefly pressing a push button. A short blink of the LED (3x) indicates 0.8s selected, while a long blink (2x) indicates 4s selected.
  • Zero-Point Adjustment (Manual): For devices without the autozero element, a manual zero-point adjustment can be performed. This involves disconnecting the tubes from the pressure inlets, pressing the zero button for more than 4 seconds until the red LED turns ON, waiting for the LED to turn off, and then reinstalling the tubes. It is recommended to perform this adjustment after the device has been powered for at least one hour.
  • Optional Display (-D): The availability of a display option allows for direct reading of pressure values, enhancing local monitoring capabilities.

Maintenance Features:

  • Recommended Manual Zero-Point Adjustment: For devices without the autozero element, it is recommended to adjust the zero point every 12 months during normal operation to maintain accuracy.
  • Optional Auto Zero Element (-AZ): This is a key maintenance-free feature. The autozero element automatically adjusts the transmitter's zero point every 10 minutes, eliminating the need for periodic manual push-button zeroing. This feature compensates for the long-term drift of the piezoresistive sensing element, ensuring consistent accuracy over time. During the 4-second autozero adjustment, the output and display values freeze to the latest measured value.
  • Standard Accessories: The device comes with standard accessories including two fixing screws, two plastic duct connectors, and 2 meters of 4/7mm tubing, facilitating installation and basic maintenance. Optional metallic duct connectors are also available.
