Overview

The HOBOT-R3 is a glass-cleaning robot designed to automate window cleaning tasks. It utilizes a vacuum motor to generate strong suction, allowing it to adhere securely to glass and other vertical surfaces. A key innovation is its patented detachable water tank and dual ultrasonic spray nozzles. These nozzles nebulize water into a fine mist, which is then sprayed evenly onto the glass, mimicking the effect of human breath to enhance cleaning. The HOBOT-R3 can spray water while moving left, right, and upwards, ensuring comprehensive coverage and optimal cleaning results.

The robot features two specially designed cleaning wheels that enable free movement across glass surfaces. Beyond the included remote control, the HOBOT-R3 can be controlled via a dedicated HOBOT App. This app offers a trimonthly cleaning reminder to help users maintain clean windows, and it allows for customization of voice prompts, enabling users to replace default sounds with their own recordings for a personalized touch. Firmware updates can be easily performed through the app, ensuring the robot stays up-to-date with the latest features and improvements.

Important Safety Precautions:

Users must read and follow all instructions and warnings for setup, use, and maintenance. The HOBOT and its accessories should be kept out of reach of children. The device should be stored in cool, dry places, away from direct sunlight, naked flames, heat, humidity, water, and other liquids. It should not be stored near oil, combustible spray, or flammable materials. The product's operating temperatures range from 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F), and storage temperatures are -10°C to 50°C (14°F to 122°F).

Operation Cautions:

Before operation, users should check the environmental surroundings. The HOBOT should not be operated on rainy or humid days, on cracked glass, or on frameless glass. It is intended for domestic use only, not for commercial or industrial environments. Any obstacles on the glass or surface, such as pull cords, electrical cords, and curtains, must be removed. When cleaning windows on upper floors, a warning sign should be placed on the ground to prevent people from approaching the area.

Before operating the device, check if the safety rope is broken or if the knot is loose. The safety rope must be fastened, and its end tied to a fixed object. The HOBOT requires connection to an electrical outlet supply to operate. The UPS battery must be fully charged (indicated by a green light). Ensure the cleaning ring is correctly placed on the cleaning wheel to prevent air leakage. The water tank should only be filled with water or HOBOT window detergent; other detergents are not allowed.

Switching On and Off:

The power must be switched on before placing the HOBOT onto the glass/surface. Ensure the HOBOT is firmly attached to the glass/surface before releasing it. Remove the HOBOT from the glass/surface before switching off the power. Be aware that reflective and coated glass may be scratched by dust and dirt during cleaning. Always empty the water tank before storing the HOBOT by tapping the spray button until all water is expelled. Do not touch the ultrasonic nozzles or the sponge.

Safety Warnings:

Only plug the power adapter into a power outlet matching the specifications (100-240VAC). Do not attempt to repair the power adapter; replace the unit if damaged or exposed to high moisture, contacting a local HOBOT dealer for assistance. Ensure the HOBOT and power adapter are not trapped under heavy objects. Allow adequate ventilation around the HOBOT and power adapter, and do not cover them. Do not use the HOBOT or power adapter in strong magnetic fields, humid, or high-heat environments. The HOBOT has a non-removable battery; contact an authorized service center for assistance. Use only the original power supply cord; unauthorized chargers can cause damage or malfunction. Do not open, crush, cut, puncture, short-circuit, or incinerate the battery. Do not expose the battery to water, fire, or heat above 60°C (140°F). Store the HOBOT in a dry, safe place if not used for an extended period, charging the battery every 3 months to preserve its life. Never operate the HOBOT if the power supply cord is damaged; ensure it is not stretched or exposed to sharp objects or edges. Do not use the HOBOT if any part or accessory is damaged or defective. Always switch off power and disconnect the robot from the charging station before cleaning or maintenance. The HOBOT is not waterproof; damage may occur if sprayed with water or submerged. Any procedure other than regular cleaning and care should be performed by an authorized service representative. Contact local waste management for recycling and disposal regulations; do not dispose of the HOBOT or batteries as unsorted household waste.

For best results, use the HOBOT on sunny days or days with low humidity. To avoid water stains, do not use on rainy days or days with high humidity.

  1. Run "Dry Cleaning" First: Turn off the spray function. Attach clean, dry cleaning cloths. Run the first round to wipe off dust and dirt. This prevents dirt from turning into a muddy mess when mixed with water or detergent.
  2. Run "Wet Cleaning" Later: Change the cleaning cloths. Turn on the spray function or spray a small amount of water/detergent on the cloth. Run the second cleaning round.

Setup:

  1. Connect the adapter to the DC power cord.
  2. Connect the adapter to the AC power cord.
  3. Plug the L-shape connector into the DC power jack on the HOBOT and screw it tight.
  4. Plug the AC power cord into the socket.

Charging the Battery:

Ensure the battery is fully charged (green light ON) before use.

  1. Turn off the power switch on the HOBOT and plug it into a power source. An orange light indicates charging.
  2. A green light indicates the battery is fully charged.

Install Cleaning Cloth and Cleaning Ring:

Ensure the cleaning ring is perfectly covered by the cleaning cloth and attach the cleaning ring to the cleaning wheel correctly to avoid air leakage.

Safety Procedures:

  1. For windows without a balcony, establish a warning area on the ground below to prevent people from approaching.
  2. Check if the safety rope is broken or loose.
  3. Fasten the safety rope and tie it to an indoor fixture before using the HOBOT.

Fill the Water Tank:

Fill the water tank only with pure water or HOBOT window detergent up to the "MAX" line and tighten the tank lid fully.

Put HOBOT onto the Glass:

  1. Turn the power switch on and ensure the fan is running.
  2. Place the HOBOT onto the glass, keeping it 10cm away from the edge.
  3. Check if the HOBOT is sticking to the glass before releasing it.

Cleaning with Auto Mode and Manual Mode:

  1. Press the "up then down," "left then down," or "right then down" buttons, and the HOBOT will automatically clean the entire window.
  2. Press "STOP" to stop the HOBOT.
  3. Use the directional buttons to manually control the HOBOT's moving direction.

Finish and Remove HOBOT from Glass:

  1. Hold the safety rope with one hand and grasp the HOBOT tightly with the other hand to remove it from the glass.
  2. Switch off the HOBOT in a safe area.

UPS (Uninterrupted Power System):

  1. The UPS supplies power during outages, with a backup time of 20 minutes.
  2. The HOBOT will stop automatically, play an alert, and flash red and blue lights during a power outage. Remove the HOBOT from the glass as soon as possible.
  3. The safety rope can be used to pull the HOBOT back. Gently pull the rope at an angle close to the glass to prevent it from falling.
