  If your HoMedics Humidifier isn't producing mist and seems to have no power, here's what to check: * Make sure the unit is properly plugged into an outlet. * Ensure the humidifier is turned on by pressing the power button. * Verify that the outlet has power by checking circuits and fuses, or try a different outlet. * Check the water level and refill the tank if it's low. * The humidistat setting might be lower than the current room humidity. Try resetting the humidistat to a higher humidity setting or switch to continuous on. * The transducer/ultrasonic membrane may need cleaning. Follow the cleaning instructions in the Cleaning and Care section of the manual.

  If your HoMedics Humidifier is emitting a peculiar odor, here's what might be happening and how to address it: * If the unit is new, remove the tank cover and let the tank air out in a cool, dry place for about 12 hours. * If the unit is in use, the odor could stem from a dirty tank or old water. Empty the old water, thoroughly clean the tank, and refill it with clean water. * Old water in the water reservoir can also cause this. Remove and empty the water tank, and pour out any remaining water from the reservoir.
