  Several factors can prevent your HoMedics Humidifier from powering on or producing mist. First, ensure the unit is correctly plugged into a working outlet and that the power button is on. Check your home's circuits and fuses, or try a different outlet. A low water level in the tank can also be the cause, so refill it if necessary. Lastly, the transducer/ultrasonic membrane might need cleaning. Follow the cleaning instructions in the Cleaning and Care section.

  If you notice white dust accumulating from your HoMedics Humidifier, it's likely due to using hard water. The solution is to switch to distilled water and use a Demineralization Cartridge. If you're already using a cartridge, it may be time to replace it.

  A peculiar odor from your HoMedics Humidifier can occur for a few reasons. If the unit is new, remove the tank cap and let the tank air out in a cool, dry place for about 12 hours. If the humidifier is already in use, the odor might be due to a dirty tank or old water. Empty any old water from both the tank and the water reservoir, then clean the tank and refill it with clean water.
