  If your HoMedics Humidifier isn't turning on or producing mist, there are several possible reasons. Ensure the unit is properly plugged in and the power button is pressed to turn it on. Check your circuits and fuses or try a different outlet. The water tank may be empty and needs refilling. You might also need to clean the transducer/ultrasonic membrane following the instructions in the Cleaning and Care section. Finally, the humidistat might be set too low; try increasing the humidity setting or switching to continuous on.

  If the red light is illuminated on the clean indicator/reset button of your HoMedics Humidifier, it indicates that the transducer/ultrasonic membrane needs cleaning. Follow the cleaning instructions provided in the Cleaning and Care section. Additionally, you may need to press and hold the clean indicator/reset button until the red LED turns off.

  A peculiar odor from your HoMedics Humidifier can often be resolved by removing the tank cover and letting the tank air out in a cool, dry place for 12 hours. Also, empty the old water, thoroughly clean the tank, and refill it with clean water. Make sure to pour out any remaining water in the water reservoir after removing the tank cover and tank.
