Function Description:

The Honda ADV350A is a scooter designed for both daily commuting and recreational riding. It features a Honda SMART Key system for keyless operation, including starting the engine, unlocking the ignition, releasing the seat lock, opening the fuel lid, and unlocking the steering. The vehicle is equipped with an Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) for enhanced braking safety and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) to manage rear wheel spin during acceleration. An Emergency Stop Signal system activates during hard braking to alert drivers behind the vehicle. Usage Features:

  • Ignition Switch: Controls electrical system, steering lock, fuel lid, and seat opener. Features (On), (Off), SEAT FUEL, and (Lock) positions.
  • Honda SMART Key System: Allows keyless operation within an operating range of approximately 2 m (6.6 ft) when unlocked, or within a shaded area when locked. The system uses low-intensity radio waves and may be affected by strong radio waves, metal objects, or other wireless devices. The SMART Key LED indicates system status (Green for active, Red for inactive).
  • Answer Back System: Helps locate the vehicle and confirms immobilizer activation. When activated, turn signals blink, and the ignition switch ring lights up for about 1 minute.
  • Instruments: Digital display includes speedometer, tachometer, clock, fuel gauge, odometer, tripmeters (A/B), available driving distance, elapsed time, average fuel mileage, battery voltage meter, and air temperature meter.
  • Indicators: High beam, turn signals, ABS, low oil pressure, PGM-FI malfunction, high coolant temperature, Honda SMART Key, Torque Control, and Torque Control OFF indicators.
  • Switches: Left handlebar switches include horn, headlight dimmer/passing, turn signal, and Torque Control switch. A function switch and sel switch are used to operate and set the display.
  • Storage: Includes a luggage box under the seat (with a partition board for helmet storage), a glove box, and a rear carrier (on II ED, IV ED types).
  • Windscreen: Adjustable to 4 different height positions.
  • Emergency Key: Used to unlock the seat and ignition switch in emergencies. An ID number on the ID tag can also be used to unlock the ignition switch.

Maintenance Features:

  • Maintenance Schedule: Detailed schedule for routine inspections and maintenance tasks, including fuel line, fuel level, throttle operation, air cleaner, crankcase breather, spark plug, valve clearance, engine oil, engine oil filter, engine idle speed, radiator coolant, cooling system, secondary air supply system, evaporative emission control system, drive belt, belt case air cleaner, final drive oil, brake fluid, brake pads wear, brake system, headlight aim, lights/horn, engine stop switch, clutch shoes wear, side stand, suspension, nuts/bolts/fasteners, wheels/tires, and steering head bearings.
  • Engine Oil: Check level regularly, add recommended oil (JASO T 903 standard: MB, SAE 10W-30, API classification: SJ or higher). Oil change indicator appears at 1,000 km (621 miles) initially, then every 12,000 km (7,458 miles).
  • Coolant: Check level in reserve tank when cold, add Pro Honda HP Coolant (50% antifreeze, 50% distilled water) if needed.
  • Brakes: Check brake fluid level (Honda DOT 4 Brake Fluid or equivalent) and brake pad wear indicators.
  • Tires: Inspect air pressure, tread depth, and for damage or abnormal wear.
  • Battery: Maintenance-free type. Clean terminals if dirty or corroded. Replace if weak or does not respond to charging. Honda SMART Key battery replacement (CR2032) is recommended if the indicator flashes 5 times.
  • Fuses: Inspect and replace blown fuses with the same rating. Fuse boxes are located near the battery.
  • Tools: A tool kit is stored in the luggage box, including wrenches, screwdrivers, spark plug wrench, helmet set wire, fuse puller, and hex wrench.
  • Cleaning: Regular washing with mild cleaner, avoiding high-pressure washers on certain parts. Waxing is recommended for painted surfaces, but not mat painted surfaces.
  • Storage: Guidelines for storing the vehicle for extended periods, including washing, waxing, lifting tires off the ground, and battery removal/disconnection.
