SERVICING YOUR HONDA ENGINE
ENGINE OIL LEVEL CHECK
Check the engine oil level with the engine stopped and
in
a level
position.
1.
Place the engine horizontally on
a
level surface.
2.
GX670
ONLY:
Start the engine and let
it
idle for
1
or
2
minutes. Stop
the engine and
wait
for
2
or
3
minutes.
3.
Remove the dipstick and wipe
it
clean.
4.
Fully insert the dipstick, then remove
it
to check the oil level.
5.
If the oil level
is
low, remove the oil filler cap, and fill to the upper
limit
mark on the dipstick with the recommended oil (see page
29).
6.
Reinstall the dipstick and filler cap.

Running the engine with
a
low oil level can cause engine damage.
The Oil Alert? system (applicable engine types) will automatically stop
the engine before the oil level falls below safe limit. However, to avoid
the inconvenience of an unexpected shutdown, always check the
engine oil level before startup.
