SERVICING YOUR HONDA ENGINE
4. Screw on the new oil filter
by
hand until the seal contacts the filter
mounting base, then use an oil filter socket tool to tighten the filter
an additional
7/8
turn.
Oil filter tightening torque: 16 Ibf-ft (22 N.m ,2.2 kgfmm)
5.
Refill the crankcase
with
the specified amount of the recommended
oil. Reinstall the oil filler cap and dipstick.
6. Start the engine, and check for leaks.
7.
Stop the engine, and check the oil level as described on page 26. If
necessary, add oil to bring the oil level to the upper limit mark on the
dipstick.

RECOMMENDATIONS
Oil is a major factor affecting performance and service life. Use
4-stroke automotive detergent oil.

1OW-30 is recommended for general use. Other viscosities shown
in the chart may be used when the average temperature in your area is
within the recommended range.
