This document is a user manual for a Hoover washing machine, designed to provide comprehensive guidance on its operation, maintenance, and safety. The manual emphasizes the brand's commitment to delivering innovative and technologically advanced home appliances.
Function Description
The Hoover washing machine is designed to clean various types of fabrics with different levels of dirt, offering specific programs to meet diverse washing needs. It automatically adapts the water level to the type and quantity of washing, which helps decrease energy consumption and reduce washing times. The machine features an innovative "ALL IN ONE" technology that utilizes a high-pressure jet to spray a mixture of water and detergent directly into the load. This system, combined with special motor movements during the start-up of each program and a series of spin actions, ensures that the detergent solution penetrates fibers effectively, aiding dirt removal and optimizing wash performance. This technology also assists in the complete removal of detergent residues during water load phases.
The washing machine offers a range of programs tailored for different fabric types and soil levels:
- All in One 20°C: This program, leveraging "ALL IN ONE" technology, allows for washing cottons, synthetics, and mixed fabrics at 20°C, achieving performance comparable to a 40°C wash while consuming approximately 50% less energy than a conventional 40°C cotton wash.
- All Baby 60°C: Designed for baby clothes, this program washes at medium temperature, ensuring hygienic and clean items when combined with heavy-duty soap. It uses an ideal pre-dose of water and detergent sprayed onto the laundry, activating enzymes at 50°C.
- All in One 59 Min.: This program washes mixed fabrics (cottons, synthetics) in just 59 minutes at 40°C (or less), suitable for full loads of slightly dirty fabrics.
- Rapid 30 Min. and Rapid 14 Min.: These programs offer complete wash cycles (wash, rinse, and spin) for slightly dirty cottons and mixed fabrics. For these rapid cycles, it is recommended to use only 20% of the normal detergent quantity to avoid waste.
- Dark Colours: This program is specifically designed for dark garments to prevent color loss and crease formation. Liquid detergent is recommended for this cycle.
- Auto Clean: This program cleans the machine's drum and is recommended every 50 washing cycles to ensure a long service life and prevent bad odors. It should be run without laundry, using only powder detergent.
- Rinse: This program performs three rinses with an intermediate spin, suitable for rinsing any fabric type, including hand-washed items.
- Drain & Spin: This program completes the drain and a maximum spin cycle, with the option to reduce or cancel the spin speed.
- Shirts: Optimized to minimize creases and maintain excellent washing performance, this cycle also allows for reduced spin speed for easier ironing.
- Lingerie: Designed for everyday underwear, this program is suitable for cottons and resistant synthetics, with the possibility of mixing colorfast clothes.
- Wool & Silk: A delicate washing cycle specifically for "Machine-Washable" Wool fabrics and silk items.
- Delicates: This program alternates work and pause moments, ideal for delicate fabrics, ensuring high water levels for optimal performance.
- Mixed: This program optimizes washing and rinsing rhythms and water levels for mixed fabrics, with a gentle spin to reduce creases.
- Cottons: This program is suitable for normally soiled cotton laundry and is the most efficient in terms of combined energy and water consumption for cotton laundry.
Usage Features
The washing machine is equipped with a user-friendly control panel that includes a program selector, various option buttons, and a digital display.
- Program Selection: To start, turn on the machine, select the desired program, adjust the washing temperature if needed, and press any required option buttons. Finally, press the START/PAUSE button.
- START/PAUSE Button: This button initiates the selected cycle. If pressed during a cycle, it pauses the machine, allowing users to add or remove items after a 2-minute safety delay.
- Spin Speed Button: Allows users to reduce the maximum spin speed or cancel the spin cycle entirely. The machine prevents increasing the spin speed beyond what is suitable for the fabric to prevent damage. An electronic device prevents the spin cycle if the load is unbalanced, reducing noise and vibration.
- Temperature Selection Button: Enables adjustment of the wash cycle temperature, including a cold wash option. The temperature cannot be raised above the maximum allowed for each program to protect fabrics.
- Delay Start Button: Allows pre-programming the wash cycle to delay its start for up to 24 hours in 1-hour increments.
- Wash Time Button: Offers three levels of wash intensity based on fabric soiling, available for specific programs.
- PREWASH Button: Useful for heavily soiled loads, this option is available for certain programs. It is recommended to use only 20% of the normal detergent quantity for prewash.
- HYGIENE PLUS Button: This option allows for hygienizing clothes by reaching a wash temperature of 60°C.
- EXTRA RINSE Button: Adds extra rinses at the end of the cycle, beneficial for people with delicate skin, children's items, or heavily soiled laundry where more detergent is used.
- EASY IRON Button: Minimizes creases by eliminating intermediate spins or reducing the intensity of the final spin.
- FAVOURITES Button: This feature allows users to save two personalized programs (M1 and M2), including temperature, spin speed, and soil level, for quick recall.
- NIGHT & DAY Button: Reduces the intermediate spin speed to 400 rpm, increases water level during rinsing, and keeps laundry immersed after the final rinse for perfect fiber spreading. This option is useful for quiet night washes.
- KEY LOCK (E+N): Simultaneously pressing the NIGHT & DAY and DELAY START buttons for about 3 seconds locks the keys, preventing accidental changes during a cycle.
- Digital Display: Provides real-time information on the machine's status, including cycle duration, remaining time, selected options, and error codes.
- DOOR LOCKED Indicator Light: Illuminates when the door is fully closed, indicating it is safe to start the machine. A safety device prevents the door from opening immediately after a cycle ends.
- Kg MODE (Cotton and Synthetics programs only): In the initial minutes of these programs, the machine calculates the actual laundry load, updating water levels and cycle duration in real-time. It adjusts water amount, wash cycle length, rinsing, drum rotation rhythm, detects lather, and adjusts spin speed to avoid imbalance.
Maintenance Features
Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and efficient operation of the washing machine.
- Exterior Cleaning: Use a damp cloth to clean the exterior, avoiding abrasives, alcohol, or solvents.
- Detergent Drawer Cleaning: To prevent detergent and additive residue buildup, extract the drawer, clean it with running water, and reinsert it.
- Filter Cleaning: The machine has a special filter to trap large residues like buttons or coins. To clean it, pull out the corrugated hose (on some models), remove the stopper to drain water into a container, then unscrew the filter counter-clockwise, clean it, and replace it by turning clockwise.
- Moving the Machine: When moving, do not lift the machine by the knobs or detergent drawer. It is recommended that two people lift the machine.
- Prolonged Disuse: If the machine will be stored in an unheated room for a long time, drain all water from the tubes, unplug the machine, detach the drain tube, and secure it with the strap.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the machine not starting, not filling/draining water, leaks, or excessive vibrations. It also explains various error codes and their solutions, advising to contact the Customer Service Centre for persistent problems.
- Environmental Considerations: The manual highlights the importance of proper disposal of the appliance according to European directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), emphasizing that WEEE should not be treated as household waste but handed over to relevant collection points for proper treatment, recovery, and recycling.
The manual also provides practical tips for environmentally friendly and economic use, such as maximizing load size to save energy, water, and detergent, avoiding prewash for lightly soiled laundry, and pretreating stains to reduce the need for hot washes. It also offers guidance on detergent use at different temperatures and for specific fabrics like wool and silk.
