The Hoover Smart vacuum cleaner is a versatile and efficient cleaning appliance designed for domestic use. It features a robust main body, a dust container with a front handle, and a dust container release button for easy emptying. The cleaner is equipped with an on-off/variable power slider, a cleaner carry handle, and a cord rewind button for convenient storage. Parking slots are provided for the hose and accessories.
The Hoover Smart is primarily designed for dry vacuuming of various surfaces. It comes with a range of accessories to tackle different cleaning tasks. The main body houses the motor and the dust collection system. The hose connects to the main body, allowing for flexible maneuvering. The handle release button allows for easy attachment and detachment of the handle. Suction control is available to adjust the cleaning power as needed. The standard tube and telescopic tube adjuster provide flexibility in reach. The cleaner is equipped with a carpet & floor nozzle and a surface selector pedal to switch between carpet and hard floor modes. For specialized cleaning, it includes a pre-motor filter, a pre-motor filter mesh, and a 2-in-1 accessory. Additional accessories, which may vary by model, include a pet hair remover mini turbo nozzle, an allergen remover mini turbo nozzle, a grand turbo nozzle, and a hard floor caresse nozzle.
The Hoover Smart is designed for use with a 13 amp fuse (UK only). It is a double insulated appliance. The wiring colors are Blue for Neutral, Brown for Live. The appliance is equipped with a pre-motor filter and an exhaust filter to ensure efficient air filtration. The dust container has a maximum level indicator to prevent overfilling. The appliance is designed to operate continuously for safe and efficient cleaning.
To begin using the cleaner, connect the hose to the main body, ensuring it clicks into position. Release the dust container by pressing the button on the hose end and pulling. Connect the handle to the tube upper end and the tube lower end to the carpet and floor nozzle. To operate, plug the cleaner into the power supply. The red marker on the cord indicates the maximum extension. Adjust the telescopic tube to the desired height by moving the telescopic tube adjuster up or down. Select the type of surface to be cleaned by pressing the pedal on the nozzle. For carpets, brushes are lowered to protect the floor. For hard floors, brushes are raised for the deepest clean. Switch the cleaner on by sliding the On-Off control to the ON position. Adjust the power level by further sliding the On-Off/variable power control slider. To switch off, slide the On-Off control to the OFF position. Unplug the cleaner and press the carry handle/cord rewind button to wind the power cord back into the cleaner. To store the cleaner, adjust the telescopic tube to the lowest height setting and park the nozzle in the park position on the cleaner main body.
All accessories can be fitted to the end of the handle or the end of the tube.
When the dust reaches the max level indicator, empty the dust container. To maintain optimum performance, do not allow the dust to sit higher than the max level. Remove the Dust Container by pressing the Dust Container Release Button. Lift the Dust Container from the cleaner mainbody. Hold the Dust Container over a bin with one hand, and remove the Dust container lid by rotating anti-clockwise. Empty the dust from the bin. Close and refit the dust container to the cleaner.
The cleaner is fitted with pre-motor filter and exhaust filter. To maintain optimum cleaning performance, regularly remove the filter and tap against the side of the bin to release dust. The filters should be washed every 5 container empties or when the filter has excessive dust level. Important: All bagless cleaners require regular filter cleaning. Failure to clean your filters may result in air blockage, overheating, and product failure. This may invalidate your guarantee. Important: Regularly check and maintain the filters. Important: Always ensure the filter pack is fully dry before use.
Remove the Dust Container from the cleaner mainbody. Hold the Dust Container over a bin with one hand, and remove the bin lid by rotating anti-clockwise. Remove the pre-motor filter by rotating clockwise from bin lid. Remove the pre-motor filter by rotating clockwise from bin lid. Gently tap and wash the filter mesh and filter. Do not use hot water or detergents. Remove excess water from the filter mesh and filter and leave to dry fully before refitting (24 hours). Re-assemble the pre-motor filter pack (filter mesh and filter) once fully dry and refit to the cleaner.
Press the exhaust filter grid latch to access the exhaust filter from rear of the cleaner. Remove the exhaust filter from the grid. Gently tap and wash the exhaust filter. Do not use hot water or detergents. Remove excess water from the exhaust filter and leave to dry fully before refitting (24 hours). Refit the exhaust filter to grid once fully dry and refit the exhaust grid. Important: Do not use the product without the exhaust filter fitted.
Check if the dust container is full. If so, refer to 'Emptying the dust container'. If the dust container is empty but suction is still low:
Warning (Certain models only): If the cleaner is used for a significant period of time when the dust container is full, filters are dirty, and with a blockage in the system, a thermal cut-out will switch the cleaner off to prevent overheating. If this should happen, switch the cleaner off, unplug and correct the fault. It will take about 30 minutes for the cut-out to automatically reset.
