This document is an instruction manual for a Hoover VHD Sensor Dry 6+5kg Washer Dryer, providing guidelines for safe use, installation, maintenance, and optimal results.

Function Description:

The Hoover VHD Sensor Dry 6+5kg Washer Dryer is a domestic appliance designed to wash, rinse, spin dry, and tumble dry household textiles and garments. It features an intelligent sensor system (KG Mode) that adjusts water levels, program length, and spin speed based on the laundry load, optimizing washing and rinsing performance while reducing energy and water consumption. The appliance offers a range of wash and dry programs tailored to different fabric types and levels of dirtiness.

  • Water pressure: 0.05 - 0.8 MPa

  • Electrical Supply: 230-240V, 50 Hz single phase, rated to at least 13A. The plug is equipped with a 13A fuse (BS 1362 ASTA approved). The machine must be earthed.
  • Water Supply: Cold water supply only, pressure between 0.5 and 8 bar (0.05-0.8 Mpa).
  • Spin Speeds: Programs have pre-set maximum spin speeds, which can be reduced in 100rpm intervals down to 400rpm or eliminated completely.

    • Delicate: Alternate periods of activity and pauses for very delicate fabrics, using high water levels.
    • Wool: Woolmark symbol approved program with alternate activity and pauses, high water level, 40°C max temperature, 3 rinses, and 800rpm spin.
    • Rinse: Three rinses with an intermediate spin.
    • Spin: Completes spin at maximum speed, adjustable.
    • Drain: Drains water from the machine.
    • Silk: Gentle Silk and Hand Wash program for "Hand Wash Only" and silk items, 30°C max temperature, 3 rinses, no final spin.
    • Rapid: 14, 30, or 44-minute wash cycle for lightly dirty cottons and mixed fabrics.

    • Wash & Dry 59': Ideal for small (1.5kg) loads of lightly dirty fabrics, washes and dries in under an hour.
  • Drying Options: Automatic Sensor Drying (Extra Dry, Store Dry, Iron Dry) and Timed Drying (120', 90', 60', 30'). Cool Down phase (10 minutes) at the end of each drying cycle.
  • Loading Laundry: Do not overload. Sort laundry by care labels, material type, and color.
  • Detergent Dispensing: Three compartments for prewash detergent, main wash detergent, and special additives (fabric softeners, fragrances, starch, brighteners). Liquid detergents and some tablets can be placed directly in the drum using a dispensing device.
  • Straight Through Wash & Dry Cycle: Allows washing and drying without interruption, provided the wash load does not exceed the maximum dry weight.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning the Soap Dispenser: Pull out the drawer, clean compartments and siphon cover under warm running water, clean the outlet, and replace.
  • Cleaning the Door Glass: Regularly clean with a damp cloth to prevent soiling and residues. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Cleaning the Filter: Open the filter cover, drain water from the corrugated hose (if present), place an absorbent towel, turn the filter anti-clockwise to remove and clean, then replace and turn clockwise. Recommended monthly cleaning.
  • Maintenance Wash: Run the Cottons 90°C program without a load and with normal detergent quantity a couple of times per year to prevent grease, dirt, and scale buildup.
