This
power
supply
may
be
operated
from
either
a nominal 115
volt
or
230
volt
50-60
cycle
power
source.
The
unit,
as
shipped
from
the
fac-
tory,
is
wired
for
115
volt
operation
only.
A
factory
modification
(Option 18) must
be
made
to
permit
operation
from a
230
volt
line.
The input
power
required
when
operated
from a
llS
volt,
60
cycie
power
source
at
full
load
is
given
in
the
s~ecification
table
in
Section
I.

Theunit
as
normally
shipped
from
the
factory
can
be
operated
from
either
a
50
or
60
Hz
source.
However,
with a
50
Hz
input,
the
operation
of
the
unit
may
become
somewhat deqraded
when
the
temperature
exceeds
350
Centigrade
(instead
of
the
normal
soocentigrade
capability
with a
60
Hz input).
To
permit
optimum
operation
at
50
Hz,
the
unit must

be
realigned.
This
realignment
procedure
is
de-
scribed
in
Paragraph
5-54
at
the
rear
of
the·manual.

CABLE

To
protect
operating
gersonnel,
the
National
Electrical
Manufacturers'
Association
(NEMA)
recommends
that
the
instrument
panel
and
ca:binet
be
grounded.
This
in&trument
is
equiPped
with
a
three
conductor
p01Ner
cable.
The
third
cond·uctor
is
the
ground
conductor
and
when
the
cable
is
plugged
into
an
appropriate
receptacle,
the
in-
strument
is
grounded. The
offset
pin
on the power
cable
three-prong
connector
is
the
ground
connec-
tion.

To
preserve
the
protection
feature
when
op-
erating
the
instrument
from a
two-contact
outlet,
use
a
three-prong
to
two-prong
adapter
and
c:on-
nect
the
green
lead
on the
adapter
to
ground.
