After a period of inactivity (30 minutes by default), the printer automatically
goes into sleep mode, in which it uses less electricity.
By using the front panel, you can change the period of inactivity that initiates
sleep mode. Choose the
icon, then Device Setup > Sleep Mode.
In sleep mode, the front-panel display and status indicators turn off, but the
indicator light above the Sleep Mode key turns on.
The printer “wakes up” immediately when you press the Sleep Mode key (or
any other key) on the front panel or when there is any I/O activity such as
the receipt of a file.
