The Kelvin scale of temperatures is used to describe the color of light. In
graphic arts and photography, an internationally recognized standard is
observed for viewing images and printed products. That standard is 5000°K,
which closely models midday sunlight in diffused conditions.
The 5000°K lighting standard is also called D50 by some color practitioners.
