A pattern used to draw images to create the illusion of tonality. Comparable
in effect to the halftone dot, a stochastic pattern uses random or pseudo-
random patterns that are not aligned like halftone dots to create varying
areas of solid ink.
When viewed from the proper distance, these patterns create images by
virtue of their pattern densities and pattern distribution.
Most ink-jet printers use a form of stochastic pattern printing to create
tonality in images.
