Note: you are recommended to avoid the parallel interface if feasible, and
use instead the much faster network interface provided with your printer. If
you need point-to-point communication, you could use a crossed RJ-45
network cable to create a private network between your computer and your
printer.
However, a 36-pin female parallel connector is provided on the printer in
case you feel a need to use it. Most existing parallel cables support IEEE-
1284 compatible communication, but, for use with this printer, the cable
must meet the specification in this table.
