Control-panel power-on functions (HP LaserJet 1010
series printers)
Turning on the printer while pressing the G O button for varying amounts of time provides important printer
functionality for resetting the printer, resetting NVRAM, and performing self-tests. Use the following
procedure to initiate a power-on function, see
on page 100 for the specific time ranges for the power-
on functions.
1 Turn off the printer.
2 Press and hold the G
O button.
3 Turn the printer on again while holding the G
O button for the amount of time specified in Table 6-2

that you want to complete.
4 Release the G
O button.
NOTE Make sure that the lights indicate the function when you release the G O button. If the
light status indicates the wrong function when you release the G
O button, restart the power-on
procedure.

the continuous self-test mode.
To terminate the continuous
self-test, press the G
O button.

The lights begin cycling from
front to back. The NVMEM
initialization process runs until
completion, and then the
printer enters the Ready state.
Error report Release G O 40 to 50
seconds after power-up.

report that shows the most
recent error.
