Redistributing the Toner
When toner is low, faded or light areas may appear on a printed page. To temporarily
improve print quality, redistribute the toner. The cartridge will need to be replaced soon. To
redistribute toner:
WARNING! Avoid reaching too far into the printer. The adjacent fusing area may be hot.
1 Remove the toner cartridge from the printer.
2 Rotate the toner cartridge and gently shake from side to side to redistribute the toner.
(Do not tip the cartridge on end, or it might leak.)
If toner gets on clothing, wipe it off with a dry cloth and wash clothing in cold water. (Hot
water sets toner into fabric.)
CAUTION: To prevent damage, do not expose the toner cartridge to light for more than a few minutes.
