There are many different factors to consider when evaluating the overall quality of a printer’s output. Print
quality involves more than the number of dots per inch (dpi) that the product places on a page; a higher dpi
does not necessarily mean better print quality.
High-quality output
The HP LaserJet P2030 Printer series delivers industry-leading print quality with 600 dpi, HP FastRes 1200, and
HP PCL 5e.
• The 600 dpi setting provides 600 by 600 dpi output with Resolution Enhancement Technology (REt) for
improved text.
• HP FastRes provides 1200 dpi equivalent quality at full engine speed. HP FastRes gives you professional
print quality that rivals that of competitors’ higher resolution products, without the performance penalties.
HP FastRes 1200 can represent each dot space as one of four different levels of black, similar to true 1200
dpi. However, HP FastRes uses only half as much RAM to store information for each dot space. This means
smaller file sizes, which translates to reduced memory requirements, less network traffic, and faster image
processing.
• Quickly translate application output into high-quality raster print images with HP PCL 5e. The PCL 5e page
description language accommodates a full set of PCL 5e fonts, and will print in DOS environments and
other third-party applications.
