Secondary service menu
Use the secondary service menu to print service-related reports and to run special tests. Customers
do not have access to this menu.
Open the secondary service menu
1. Ensure the product is in the Ready state.
2. Press the Setup
button to open the menus.
3. Press and hold the Left arrow
button, then press the Cancel button, and then release them.
4. Press the Setup
button again to open the service menus, and then press the OK button to
open secondary service menu.
5. Press the Left arrow
button and the Right arrow button to navigate through the menus.
6. Press the OK button to open a sub menu.

Menu item Sub menu item Description
Location A list of available locations
appears
Configure the location to set certain parameters, such as the default
paper size and the symbol set, that are dependent on the location.
Press the Right arrow
button or the Left arrow button to navigate
to the desired location, and then press the OK button to configure the
location. The product automatically restarts after you configure the
location.
LED test A series of LED display
functions appears.
Use this test to verify that the LED display functions, such as the
backlight, the ready state light, and the attention light function correctly.
Press the OK button to start the test, and then press the OK button to
continue the test. Press the Cancel
button to exit the test. Pressing
the Cancel
button exits the secondary service menu, but pressing the
Setup
button reopens the secondary setup menu.
Display test A series of character sets
appears.
Use this test to verify that the LCDs and characters function correctly.
Press the OK button to start the test. Press the OK button to continue
the test.
The beginning of the test illuminates all LCDs in the top row and then in
the bottom row to verify that all LCDs function correctly. The test
continues by displaying all possible characters in groups of 16 to verify
that the characters display correctly.
Press the Cancel
button to exit the test. This also exits the secondary
service menu, but pressing the Setup
button reopens the secondary
setup menu.
Button test A series of prompts to test
control panel buttons appears.
Use this test to verify that the control-panel buttons function correctly.
Press the OK button to start the test. The display prompts you to press
each button. As you press each button the test continues.
