Removal and replacement procedures 46
NOTE: HP recommends that you remove all media blanks to facilitate drive installation.
Retain the blanks for future use.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
Half-height or full-height media devices
To remove the component:
1. Power down the server (on page 29).
2. Do one of the following:
o Unlock and remove the bezel ("Front bezel" on page 30).
o Extend the server from the rack (on page 29).
3. Remove the access panel ("Access panel" on page 31).
4. Slide the media latch to release the drive and extend the drive from the bay to access the cabling.
CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless
all bays are populated with either a component or a blank.
5. Disconnect the data and power cables from the device.
6. Remove the half-height or full-height drive.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
Systems Insight Display
To remove the component:
1. Power down the server (on page 29).
2. Do one of the following:
o Unlock and remove the bezel ("Front bezel" on page 30).
