5.1 Introduction
This section describes the cards supported by the AR routers, including card types, relationships
between cards, the interface numbering scheme, and card dimensions.
5.1.1 Relationships Between Cards
This section describes the relationships between the cards supported by the AR routers.
Figure 5-1,Figure 5-2,Figure 5-3 and Figure 5-4 illustrates the relationships between the cards
supported by the AR routers.
NOTE
l On the AR1200, the backplane is at the bottom of the chassis, and cards are installed on the backplane.
l On the AR2220, the backplane is in the middle of the chassis, cards are installed on the rear side of the
backplane, and a power supply module is installed on the front side of the backplane.
l On the AR2240, the backplane is in the middle of the chassis, cards are installed on the front and rear
sides of the backplane, and a power supply unit is installed on the front side of the backplane.
l On the AR3260, the backplane is in the middle of the chassis, cards are installed on the front and rear
sides of the backplane, and a power supply unit is installed on the front side of the backplane.
