Precautions
l Based on Running Status of a consistency group, determine whether remote
replications in the consistency group can be split, as shown in Table 7-5.

l When synchronous consistency groups are splitting, if the storage system has a controller
reset, which may cause synchronization failure in some remote replication tasks, the
consistency groups cannot guarantee data consistency.
Procedure
Step 1 Log in to DeviceManager.
Step 2 Choose Data Protection > Remote Replication > Remote Replication
Consistency Group.
Step 3 Right-click the desired consistency group and choose Split.
The security alert dialog box is displayed.
Step 4 Confirm the operation of splitting remote replications in the consistency group.
1. Carefully read the contents of the dialog box. Select I have read and understand the
consequences associated with performing this operation. and click OK to confirm the
information.
2. Click OK.
The Success dialog box is displayed indicating that the operation is successful.
3. Click OK.
