Preparation

Software and System Requirements

Download the R205 v8.0 software package and ensure PC OS is Windows XP/Vista/Win7. Do not restart during upgrade.

Upgrade Procedure

Connect and Install Software

Power on R205, connect to PC via USB, and install the R205 software provided by the device.

Verify Device Driver

Open Computer Management, select Device Manager to check for 'Vodafone Mobile Broadband Diagnostics Port'.

Run Firmware Updater

Execute the downloaded firmware file. The updater window will appear; click 'Next'.

Initiate Update Process

Click 'Start' in the updater to proceed with the firmware update.

Monitor Update Progress

The device is being updated. Avoid unplugging power or removing the device during this process.

Confirm Update Completion

Successful completion will display the message 'Update complete'.

Restore Default Settings

WebUI Restore Method

Access WebUI, navigate to Device Controls, select Restore Default Settings, and confirm.

Physical Reset Method

Press and hold the 'Reset' key near the SIM card slot for 5 seconds to restore the device.

Check Software Version

Access Diagnostics Page

Go to http://pocket.wifi, login, select 'Help' then 'Diagnostics' to view the version.
