Assembly

Remove Lawn Mower From Carton

Remove loose parts included with mower. Cut down two end corners of carton and lay end panel down flat.

Set Up Lawn Mower Handle

Raise lower handle section to operating position and align holes in lower handle with handle brackets.

Assemble Grass Catcher

Put grass catcher frame into grass bag with rigid part of bag on the bottom.

Install Starter Rope

Loosen T-knob. Hold control bar against upper handle.

Our rotary walk-behind power lawn mowers conform to the safety standards of the American National Standards Institute and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Using Your Lawn Mower

The engine speed was set at the factory for optimum performance. Speed is not adjustable.

Engine Zone Control

Federal regulations require an engine control to be installed on this lawn mower to minimize the risk of blade contact injury.

Drive Control

To start forward motion, lift drive control bar up to handle.

Adjust Cutting Height

Raise wheels for low cut and lower wheels for high cut, adjust cutting height to suit your requirements.

Convert Mower

Your lawn mower was shipped ready to be used as a mulcher. To convert to bagging or discharging:

Empty Grass Catcher

Lift up on grass catcher using the frame handle.

Before Starting Engine

Your lawnmower is shipped without oil in the engine.

Mowing Tips

CAUTION: Do not use de-thatcher blade attachments on your mower.

IMPORTANT: FOR BEST PERFORMANCE, KEEP MOWER HOUSING FREE OF BUILT-UP GRASS AND TRASH.

Maintenance

Maintenance Schedule

Check for Loose Fasteners. Clean / Inspect Grass Catcher.

General Recommendations

The warranty on this lawn mower does not cover items that have been subjected to operator abuse or negligence.

Lubrication Chart

Keep unit well lubricated (See “LUBRICATION CHART”).

Before Each Use

Check engine oil level. Check for loose fasteners.

Tires

Keep tires free of gasoline, oil, or insect control chemicals which can harm rubber.

Drive Wheels

Check front drive wheels each time before you mow to be sure they move freely.

Blade Care

For best results, mower blade must be kept sharp. Replace bent or damaged blades.

Remove Blade

Disconnect spark plug wire from spark plug and place wire where it cannot come in contact with plug.

Sharpen Blade

We do not recommend sharpening blade - but if you do, be sure the blade is balanced.

Replace Blade

Position the blade adapter on the engine crankshaft.

Grass Catcher

The grass catcher may be hosed with water, but must be dry when used.

Gear Case

To keep your drive system working properly, the gear case and area around the drive should be kept clean.

Engine Lubrication

Use only high quality detergent oil rated with API service classification SG-SL.

Change Engine Oil

Before tipping lawn mower to drain oil, empty fuel tank by running engine until fuel tank is empty.

Air Filter

Your engine will not run properly and may be damaged by using a dirty air filter.

Muffler

Inspect and replace corroded muffler as it could create a fire hazard and/or damage.

Spark Plug

Replace spark plug at the beginning of each mowing season or after every 100 hours of operation.

Cleaning

IMPORTANT: FOR BEST PERFORMANCE, KEEP MOWER HOUSING FREE OF BUILT-UP GRASS AND TRASH.

Water Washout Feature

Your lawn mower is equipped with a fitting that allows quick and easy cleaning of the underside of the housing.

Service and Adjustments

Adjust Cutting Height

See "TO ADJUST CUTTING HEIGHT” in the Operation section of this manual.

Rear Deflector

The rear deflector, attached between the rear wheels of your mower, is provided to minimize the possibility that objects will be thrown out of the rear of the mower.

Remove Drive Belt

Remove drive cover and belt keeper. Remove belt from gearcase pulley.

Replace Drive Belt

Place new drive belt on engine pulley, inside tabs of belt retainer.

Adjust Handle

The handle on your lawn mower has three (3) height positions - adjust to height that suits you.

Engine Speed

Your engine speed has been factory set. Do not attempt to increase engine speed or it may result in personal injury.

Carburetor

Your carburetor is not adjustable. If your engine does not operate properly due to suspected carburetor problems...

Storage

Lawn Mower Storage

When lawn mower is to be stored for a period of time, clean it thoroughly, remove all dirt, grease, leaves, etc.

Handle Folding for Storage

You can fold your lawn mower handle for storage.

Engine Fuel System Storage

IMPORTANT: IT IS IMPORTANT TO PREVENT GUM DEPOSITS FROM FORMING IN ESSENTIAL FUEL SYSTEM PARTS.

Engine Oil Storage

Drain oil (with engine warm) and replace with clean engine oil.

Troubleshooting Points

Does Not Start

Dirty air filter. Out of fuel. Stale fuel. Water in fuel.

Loss of Power

Rear of lawn mower housing or cutting blade dragging in heavy grass.

Poor Cut - Uneven

Worn, bent or loose blade. Wheel heights uneven.

Excessive Vibration

Worn, bent or loose blade. Bent engine crankshaft.

Starter Rope Hard to Pull

Engine flywheel brake is on when control bar is released.

Grass Catcher Not Filling

Cutting height too low. Lift on blade worn off.

Hard to Push

Grass is too high or wheel height is too low.

Loss of Drive Speed

Belt wear. Belt off of pulley.

Limited Warranty

Warranty Disclaimer

THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS THE SOLE EXPRESS WARRANTY PROVIDED BY HUSQVARNA AND THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES WHICH EXTEND BEYOND THE DESCRIPTION ON THE FACE HEREOF.

Limited Duration

ANY WARRANTY THAT MAY BE IMPLIED BY LAW (INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR USE AND IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY) IS LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE APPLICABLE WARRANTY PERIOD UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.

Exclusive Remedies

SOME LOCALITIES, INCLUDING THE PROVINCE OF QUEBEC, DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR INJURY TO PERSON OR FOR DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE FAULT OF THE MANUFACTURER.

Exclusions (Engines, Transmissions, etc.)

Engines and Attachments. Except where otherwise indicated on Exhibit A, all Engines and Attachments are not covered by this Limited Warranty.

Expendable Parts

This Limited Warranty does not cover general maintenance parts and items ("Expendable Parts"), including without limitation spark plugs, bulbs, filters, lubricants, starter cords, belts, blades, and blade adapters.

Emissions Control Components

This Limited Warranty does not cover Emissions control equipment and components to the extent regulated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency or similar state, provincial or federal agencies.

Commercial Use Limitations

Any COMMERCIAL, INSTITUTIONAL, AGRICULTURAL, INDUSTRIAL, INCOME PRODUCING, or RENTAL use will result in either No Warranty or a Shortened Warranty Period.

Reconditioned Products

Reconditioned or Refurbished Products have a 30 Day Limited Warranty. Under this Limited Warranty, Certified Factory Reconditioned or Refurbished products have a 30 Day Limited Warranty for parts and labor for Non-Commercial Use.

Owner's Responsibilities

To preserve your rights under this Limited Warranty, you must exercise reasonable care and use of the product, including, following the preventative maintenance, storage, fuel and oil usages as prescribed in the enclosed operator's manual.

Normal Wear and Tear

Damages resulting from normal aging, wear and tear or neglect are NOT covered.

Exclusions (Abuse, Neglect, etc.)

Failure to provide or perform required maintenance services as prescribed in the operator's manual; Abuse, misuse, neglect, modifications, alterations, normal wear, improper servicing, use of unauthorized attachments, Lack of lubrication or engine failure...

Prohibited Fuel Types

Use of gasohol, containing methanol (wood alcohol). Gasohol which contains a maximum 10% ethanol (grain alcohol) or 15% MTBE (methyl/tertiary/butyl/ether) is approved;

Prohibited Cleaning Methods

Pressure cleaning or steam cleaning the product; Use of spark plugs other than those meeting emission performance requirements listed in the operator's manual;

Tampering and Improper Use

Tampering with engine speed governor or emission components, or running engines above specified and recommended engine speeds as listed in your operator's manual; Operation of the unit with improperly installed/removed or modified cutting shields, guards, or safety devices;

Environmental and Storage Damage

Any removed/damaged air filter, excessive dirt, abrasives, salt water, moisture, corrosion, rust, varnish, stale fuel, or any adverse reaction due to incorrect storage procedures;

Improper Service and Continued Use

Failures due to improper set up, pre-delivery service or repair service by anyone other than an authorized Husqvarna servicing dealer during the warranty period; Dirt contaminated grease or oil, use of incorrect type of greases or oils, failure to comply with recommended greasing intervals, water or moisture damage, and/or improper storage;

Deck Warranties

Reinforced Stamped (Armor Protected) 10 Year Limited & Fabricated Limited Lifetime, Deck Warranties. These Limited Warranties are for the deck shell only - mechanical components/parts such as belts, pulleys, spindle housings, bearings, blades, rods, height adjusters, caster/anti scalp wheels etc... are NOT covered.

How to Obtain Service

Authorized Husqvarna Servicing Dealer/Center. In order to obtain warranty coverage it is your responsibility (at your expense) to deliver or ship your Husqvarna unit to an authorized Husqvarna Servicing Dealer/Center and arrange for pick-up or return of your unit after the repairs have been made.

Documentation Required

You must maintain and present Proof of purchase (including date, product model and, if applicable, engine serial number) to an authorized Husqvarna Servicing Dealer for warranty service under this Limited Warranty.
