Electric starter
Starter battery
Model LC48 E, LC53 E
Remove the protective cover over the
gearbox to access the battery.
Separate the contacts (A).
Loosen the rubber strap (B) and lift out the
battery.

gearbox to access the battery.
Separate the contacts (A).
Loosen the rubber strap (B) and lift out the
battery.
The battery is maintenance free but may
require charging.
Connect the battery charger 502 95 12-01
to the contact (A) and charge the battery
for a maximum of 24 hours.
Circuit board

Detach the coupling on the cable connect-
ing the engine and the circuit board.

Detach the coupling on the cable connect-
ing the engine and the circuit board.
Remove the gearbox cover and lift out the
battery.
Remove the screws (A) and (B).
Fold the cover to one side so that the
circuit board on the underside of the cover
becomes accessible.
Remove the gearbox cover and lift out the
battery.
Remove the screws (A) and (B).
Fold the cover to one side so that the
circuit board on the underside of the cover
becomes accessible.
Separate the contacts and remove the
screws holding the circuit board.
Remove the circuit board.
Separate the contacts (C).
Remove the screw (D) and detach the cir-
cuit board (E) to replace it with a new one.
Assemble in the reverse order and make
sure the cables (F) are clamped securely
to the cover.
