Do not operate in confined spaces, mow in daylight, disengage blade clutches, and follow slope guidelines.

Assembly

Functional Description

Ignition Lock

Key positions: OFF, ROS ON, ON, START. Never leave key in ignition when unattended.

Before Starting

Filling up

Use unleaded petrol, fill outdoors, do not smoke, check cap, store safely. WARNING: Petrol is highly flammable.

Driving

Purge Transmission

Procedure to remove trapped air from transmission before first use or after service.

Slope Operation Warnings

Do not drive on slopes >15°. Avoid stopping/starting on slopes. Do not mow parallel to slopes.

Maintenance and Adjustment

Before Servicing Engine or Cutting Unit

Disconnect spark plug wire, press brake pedal, engage parking brake, neutral lever, disengage clutch.

To Change Oil

Drain hot oil carefully using extension. Reinstall plug. WARNING: Do not overtighten.

Transaxle Motion Control Lever Neutral Adjustment

Troubleshooting

Engine Will Not Start

Check fuel, plug, connections, carburetor, fuel pipe.

Start Motor Will Not Turn Engine

Check battery, contacts, lever position, fuse, ignition lock, safety contact, pedal position.

Engine Runs Unevenly

Check gear, plug, carburetor, air filter, fuel tank vent, ignition, fuel pipe.

Engine Feels Weak

Check air filter, plug, carburetor, fuel pipe, carburetor setting.

Engine Overheats

Check overload, blocked inlets/fins, fan, oil level, ignition, plug.

Storage
