Why won't my HUSTLER Lawn Mower engine start?

If your HUSTLER Lawn Mower engine won't start, starts hard, or fails to keep running, several factors could be the cause. It might be due to no fuel or a plugged fuel line, in which case you should fill the tank or replace the line. Ensure the fuel valve is open. Incorrect fuel could be the problem; drain the tank and replace it with the proper type. A dirty fuel filter can also prevent starting, so replace it. Also, make sure the choke is on and the traction drive lever is disengaged.
