Why is the glass pane covered in soot on my HWAM Wiking Scandic?

Soot on the glass pane of your HWAM Wood stove can occur due to several reasons. The wood may be too moist; ensure you're using firewood that has dried for at least 12 months under a covered shed, with a water content of no more than 20%. Check the door seals; they should be soft and flexible—replace them if they're not. Also, make sure there's enough secondary air flowing to the pane-flushing system by pushing the secondary damper all the way to the right, and opening the primary damper a bit if needed. Finally, the stove temperature might be too low; add more firewood and push both dampers to the right.
