GENERAL
DESCRIPTION
The
Tailtwister
rotator
consists
of
an
extra
heavy
duty
rotator
and
the
control
unit.
The
rotator
is
designed
to
be
mounted
on
a
plate
inside
a
tower.
A
mast
to
support
and
turn
large
communications
beams
is
then
attached
to
the
top
of
the
rotator.
However,
in
some
instances,
mast
mounting
is
desired.
The
Lower
Mast
Support
Kit,
PN
5146710,
contains
a
lower
mast
support
and
the
necessary
hardware
to
facilitate
mounting
the
Tailt-
wister
rotator
on
top
of
a
mast.
New
features
in
the
Tailtwister
include
an
8
pin
Cinch®
connector
on
the
rear
panel
of
the
control,
a
chassis
ground
connection
on
the
120
VAC
model,
a
high-strength
drive
gear,
a
weather
proof
AMP
connector
at
the
rotor
unit,
and
RF
beads
on
the
potentiometer
lines.

The
rotator
unit
must
be
wired
to
the
control
unit
with
an
8-wire
cable.
The
control
unit
must
be
placed
inside
the
house
or
other
protected
location.

Due
to
the
wide
variety
of
towers
available,
each
installation
will
have
different
requirements.
The
gauge
of
the
8-wire
cable
to
connect
the
control
unit
to
the
rotator
depends
upon
the
distance
between
the
rotator
and
control.
The
longer
the
distance,
the
larger
the
diameter
of
the
wire
required.
Various
antennas
or
beams
require
different
installation
methods.
