Overview

This document is an operating manual for the HydroMist Pro Series Misting Pump, providing detailed information on its specifications, installation, operation, and maintenance.

Function Description

The HydroMist Pro Series Misting Pump is designed to create a misting effect, likely for cooling or humidification purposes. It operates by pressurizing water and delivering it through a misting nozzle circuit. The pump features various operating modes, including continuous misting and timed misting cycles, and can be controlled via an LCD panel or an infrared remote control. It also incorporates sensors for temperature and humidity, allowing for intelligent operation based on environmental conditions. Safety features include automatic shut-off if the water supply fails and motor overload protection.

Usage Features

The HydroMist Pro Series Misting Pump offers a range of features for flexible and convenient operation:

  • Control Panel and Remote Control: The pump can be operated via an LCD control panel on the unit or an infrared remote control. The remote has START and STOP keys and an ideal operating distance of within 15 feet with a direct line of sight.
  • Operating Modes: Six distinct operating modes are available:
    • Mode 1: 15 sec. Misting / 20 sec. Stop
    • Mode 2: 25 sec. Misting / 30 sec. Stop
    • Mode 3: 40 sec. Misting / 40 sec. Stop
    • Mode 4: Custom Programmable (allows setting mist and rest intervals)
    • Mode 5: Weekly Cycle (user-set schedule)
    • Mode 6: Continuous Misting
  • Temperature Monitoring: The pump can activate or disable temperature monitoring. When active, the pump will not run if the ambient temperature is less than the set temperature (+/- 2 degrees) and will resume when the temperature rises above the set value. The setting range is 10°C (50°F) to 60°C (140°F), with a default of 29°C (84°F). The highest sensible temperature is 65°C (150°F).
  • Humidity Monitoring: Similar to temperature, humidity monitoring can be activated or disabled. The pump will activate when ambient humidity is equal to or lower than the set humidity (+/- 3%) and stop when it's higher. The setting range is 30% to 95%, with a default of 70%. Temperature monitoring takes precedence over humidity monitoring.
  • Custom Misting and Rest Intervals (Mode 4): Users can set specific "Minute" and "Second" values for both misting and rest periods. If the "Minute" is set to 0, the interval for "Second" is 15 seconds.
  • Weekly Cycle Setting (Mode 5): This mode allows users to program up to 14 periods (two per weekday) for the pump to run or stop. The system displays "WEEK X" to indicate the current mode number within Mode 5. Period 1 takes priority over Period 2 if both are selected for the same day.
  • Time Setting: The controller uses a 24-hour clock format. Users can set the week, hour, and minute for scheduled operations.
  • Insufficient Water Supply Warning: The pump features a warning icon and alarm that activate if the water supply is insufficient, stopping the pump until the issue is resolved.
  • Service Mode: Allows access to display units (Celsius/Fahrenheit switch), total running time for the motor, and sum of total running time of the system.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Do not operate during adverse weather conditions (rain, electrical storm, flood).
    • Only trained operators should use the pump; children and untrained adults should be restricted.
    • Power sources must have proper grounding and circuit breakers (GFCI receptacles for wet locations).
    • Do not operate in or below freezing temperatures (32°F / 0°C).
    • Do not move or operate in excessively wet environments.
    • Place on a solid, flat, dry surface away from flammable gases or fumes.
    • Always read the entire manual before operation.
    • Verify oil presence before starting.
    • Connect to correct electrical voltage, frequency, and current supply.
    • Do not increase operating pressure over 1000 PSI.
    • Do not run without adequate water supply to prevent damage.
    • Do not open the cover or touch internal components during operation due to risk of burns or electrocution. Disconnect power before servicing.
    • Visually inspect wires, hoses, components, and connections for wear or breakage before running.
    • Do not use extension cables longer than 25 feet, and ensure they are adequately rated for outdoor use.
    • Install a pressure relief device if excess pressure over 1500 PSI may occur.
    • A valve at the end of the misting system is recommended for purging air and flushing lines.
    • Check nozzles for blockages during misting.
    • Ensure all connections are watertight.

Maintenance Features

The manual outlines several maintenance procedures to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of the misting pump:

  • General Maintenance:
    • Always power off and unplug the machine before any maintenance or inspection.
    • Open the discharge valve and clean the unit.
    • Remove water supply and high-pressure misting hoses, keeping the unit dry.
    • Check for oil leakage from the pump body.
  • Oil Change:
    • Check oil level and quality (should not be white, dirty, burnt, or excessively thick). Refill if not visible.
    • The first oil change is recommended after 50 hours of operation.
    • Subsequent oil changes should occur every 250-300 hours with 150mL (5 Oz.) ISO 68 oil (or equivalent).
    • Procedure: Remove the refill screw, prepare a container for used oil, then open the drain valve at the bottom. After draining, tighten the drain valve and refill with new oil, then tighten the refill screw.
  • Water Filter Cartridge Change:
    • Check the inlet water filter every 500 running hours or every three months.
    • Change the filter cartridge if it's blocked or too dirty.
    • The manufacturer recommends changing the first filter cartridge (from water inlet side) every three months and six months for the second one.
    • Procedure: Use a special spanner wrench to turn the filter housing counterclockwise, remove the housing, replace the cartridge, and re-attach the housing clockwise with the spanner.
  • Winter Storage:
    • Run the pump, shut off the water supply, and allow the pump to shut off due to the inlet water sensor.
    • Remove water from the filter housing and purge any lines or pipes connected to the high-pressure side of the misting system.
  • Maintenance Reminder: The pump includes a "300 Hour Maintenance Reminder" which illuminates an icon and sounds an alarm when total running time reaches 300 hours. This does not affect functionality but indicates maintenance is due. The warning can be reset in service mode (Mode 2, push DOWN key for 3 seconds).
  • Periodic Check and Inspection: A detailed table outlines checks to be performed at different intervals (Before operation, 50h, 100h, 200h, 300h) for various components:
    • Main Pump Unit: Tightness of components, water line leakage, oil leakage, abnormal sound/vibration, frame/cover damage.
    • Hose/Pipe: Connectors and hoses for damage/leaks, inlet water filter (check and clean), nozzle leaking/blocked.
    • Electric Wire: Power circuitry damage, electric cord damage.
    • Accessories: External pressure regulators/valves for leakage.
    • High Pressure Pump: Oil level, oil change (first time), pressure relief valve, oil seal, plunger.
    • Motor: Isolation on the motor.
    • Note: Power must be off and unit unplugged for checks. The intervals are for reference; actual change time depends on frequency of use. Some items may require professional service.
