Setting Up the RetroN® HD via AV Cable
1. Insert the AV cable into the AV PORT on the RetroN® HD.
2. Insert the other end of the AV cable into the AV input on the TV.
Aspect Ratio and Region Switches
BEFORE powering on your RetroN® HD, make sure your aspect (via HD cable only) and region
is configured.
• Located in the BACK of the RetroN® HD is the ASPECT RATIO SWITCH. Moving the
switch to the LEFT position indicates a 16:9 ratio. Moving the switch to the RIGHT
position indicates a 4:3 ratio. Aspect ratio can only be toggled when using HD cable.
• Located on the BOTTOM of the RetroN® HD is the region switch. Moving the switch
to the LEFT position indicates you are using a PAL cartridge. Moving the switch to the
RIGHT position indicates you are using an NTSC cartridge,
Playing NES Cartridges on the RetroN®HD
1. Insert the cartridge into the CARTRIDGE SLOT.
2. Turn ON the RetroN® HD by pressing the POWER button.
3. While ON, you can reset the RetroN HD by pressing the RESET button,
4. When done playing, press the POWER button to turn OFF the RetroN® HD.
5. The Hyperkin Logo located on the right-hand side of the console will light up BLUE
when powered on.
Note: Make sure your aspect ratio and region are configured before powering on the Retrotf HD.
Using the Premium Classic-Style "Cadet" Controller
With the RetroN® HD turned off, insert the Cadet into CONTROLLER PORT 1. For
two-player games, insert a second controller into CONTROLLER PORT 2. The RetroN®
HD is also compatible with original NES controllers.
