Installation Manual
Desktop DIMM Installation
Note: Never apply pressure or handle the memory module on or around the Integrated Circuit
(IC)! Always handle the memory with both hands positioned at the upper-most corners of the
Printed Circuit Board (PCB).
1) Disconnect the AC power cord and remove the computer cover.
2) Prior to handling the memory module(s), always touch an unpainted and earthed metal object
or use an earthed antistatic wrist strap to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD).
3) If necessary, remove pre-existing memory by pressing down on the lock/ejector tabs. The tabs
are located at both ends of the memory socket.

Insert the memory module into the socket until retention tabs click into place.

Reassemble and Power On

Replace the computer cover and reconnect the AC power cord.

Notebook SO-DIMM Installation

Disconnect Power and Remove Battery

Disconnect AC power and remove the notebook battery before proceeding.

ESD Prevention for Notebooks

Ground yourself by touching metal or wearing an antistatic wrist strap before handling modules.

Remove Existing SO-DIMM Memory

Gently pull lock/ejector tabs away from the SO-DIMM socket to release memory.

Align and Insert SO-DIMM at Angle

Align the SO-DIMM notch with the socket key and insert at a 30-degree angle.

Secure SO-DIMM Module

Rotate the SO-DIMM downwards until the lock/ejector tabs engage and secure it.

Reassemble and Power On Notebook

Replace the notebook battery and reconnect the AC power cord.
