Overview

This document serves as a comprehensive setup guide for the Jurassic Park arcade cabinet, providing detailed instructions for assembly, configuration, and maintenance. It is designed to assist operators and technicians in setting up the game efficiently and ensuring its optimal performance.

Function Description

The Jurassic Park arcade cabinet is an immersive entertainment system designed to deliver an engaging gaming experience. It features a large display, two gun assemblies for interactive gameplay, and a robust cabinet structure that houses all necessary electronic components. The game allows players to immerse themselves in the world of Jurassic Park, engaging in a thrilling dinosaur-hunting adventure. The cabinet is built to withstand the rigors of commercial use, offering a durable and reliable platform for arcade operations.

Usage Features

The setup process begins with the assembly of the main cabinet. This involves carefully placing the upper main cabinet onto the lower cabinet, a task that requires a helper due to the size and weight of the components. Once aligned, the two sections are secured using AA6281 Allen bolts and AA6212 washers on each side. It is crucial not to fully tighten these bolts initially, allowing for minor adjustments during the alignment process. The back panel of the cabinet must be removed to access internal connections and then re-installed once connections are made.

Connecting the internal components is a critical step. The DVI and AC Power cords, located at the bottom of the cabinet, need to be attached. The video DVI cable connects to the VIDEO DVI port on the monitor, and the AC power cord connects to the AC IN port. Following these connections, the upper cabinet harness must be connected as illustrated in the guide. After all internal connections are secure and the side panels are properly aligned, the front and back mounting bolts can be fully tightened.

The gun assemblies are central to the interactive gameplay. These are unpacked and inserted into the gun mounts on the control panel. Securing the gun assemblies involves using PC60622 Allen bolts at the rear and AA6281 Allen bolts with AA6212 washers at the front. The front Allen bolts are further secured with PC60604 nylon nuts. The gun harnesses, located underneath the cabinet, must then be connected. This may require removing the front access door to gain access to the connection points. A gun harness cover is then attached using five PC60622 Allen bolts to protect these connections.

The floor assembly is then slid into place at the front of the cabinet, and its harness is attached. The two holes on the floor assembly should face the back (seat) of the cabinet. The front half of the floor assembly is secured using six AA6220 Allen bolts and six AA6212 washers, but these should not be fully tightened until the back half is installed.

The rear seat assembly, if disassembled, requires a specific sequence of assembly using various bolts and dowel nuts. The guide provides detailed diagrams for each step, indicating the number and type of fasteners (e.g., 3X's AA6744 dowel nuts, 3X's AA6318 black zinc bolts, 5X's AA6318 black zinc bolts, 4X's AA6744 dowel nuts, 2X's AA6318 black zinc bolts, 12X's AA6318 black zinc bolts, and 4X's AA6744 dowel nuts, followed by 4X's AA6318 black zinc bolts). These steps ensure a sturdy and comfortable seating arrangement for players.

Once the seat assembly is complete, the back harness is attached to it. The entire seat assembly is then secured to the cabinet using AA6211 bolts. Similar to earlier steps, these bolts should not be fully tightened until all bolts are started, allowing for final adjustments before securing them completely. The roof of the cabinet is then secured using six AA6220 Allen bolts and six AA6212 washers. Finally, the Dino sign is attached using two AA6211 Allen bolts and two AA6212 washers.

Powering up the game involves plugging the AC power cord into the power supply at the rear and bottom of the game. It is essential to ensure the AC power switch is set to the "on" position (indicated by "-") before operation.

Maintenance Features

The guide also covers essential programming and diagnostic features. To enter programming mode, the operator must press and hold the "PWR" button for 3 seconds while the game is in attract mode (not in game mode). This grants access to various program options.

Navigating the menu system is straightforward:

  • "STEP +" and "TEST -" buttons are used to scroll through the menus.
  • The "SEL" button is used to enter a desired menu.
  • "STEP +" and "TEST -" buttons are used to change selected options.
  • The "PWR" button saves any changes made.

The "Main Menu" offers several critical functions:

  • Diagnostics: Verifies game inputs and outputs, ensuring all components are functional.
  • Pricing: Allows operators to set and manage game parameters related to cost per play.
  • Game Adj (Game Adjustments): Customizes in-game parameters to suit customer preferences and location requirements, such as attract sound frequency, difficulty (average time/credit), damage cooldown, player death cooldown, damage max percent for 1P and 2P, options to hide human deaths, enable weapon models, enable friendly fire, subtitles, and play voice over in game/menus.
  • System Adj (System Adjustments): Manages system-level parameters.
  • Audits: Provides hardware and software information, including collection and play data.
  • Gun Cal (Gun Calibration): Calibrates and verifies gun functionality. This is crucial for maximizing earning potential and ensuring accurate gameplay. The calibration process involves aiming at specific points on the screen (e.g., top left) and pressing fire for both Player 1 and Player 2.
  • Game Vol (Game Volume): Adjusts game and attract mode volume levels.

The warranty policy outlines that all components are warranted for one year from the purchase date against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty does not cover commercially operated games, equipment subjected to unwarranted stress, abuse, neglect, or damage from arbitrary repair/modification. To claim warranty service, an authorized RMA number must be obtained from I.C.E. tech support, requiring the game serial number, original invoice, and a detailed description of the issue. I.C.E. covers domestic UPS ground shipping for warranty parts but does not cover labor or travel time for replacements. Defective components are replaced with new or factory-refurbished parts meeting OEM specifications.
