Type Description Example
Port-to-port This type of switching occurs
when the source and
destination segments reside
on the same PeerMaster
adapter.
Adapter 1 forwards data
packets between port 1 and 2
of that adapter.
Peer-to-peer This type of switching occurs
when the source and
destination segments reside
on separate PeerMaster
adapters.
The adapters forward data
packets between port 1 of
adapter 1 and port 1 of
adapter 2.
