Installing PeerMaster LAN Software
enable the bind process to occur without manual intervention. You
can automate the binding process by adding these statements to the
AUTOEXEC.NCF file.
The process for loading multiple PeerMaster adapters is identical to
the process for loading a single PeerMaster adapter. Load
successive PeerMaster adapters in the same manner as the first, with
the exception that the Most Significant Digit of the pseudo slot
number is the expansion slot number of the adapter being loaded.
Loading Procedure for VNET Switch Mode
This section describes the loading procedure for VNET switch mode.
1. Load the PeerMaster adapter device driver once for each port,
using the following commands.
:LOAD C:\PATH\MXPCI4BT.LAN SLOT=21
:LOAD C:\PATH\MXPCI4BT.LAN SLOT=22
:LOAD C:\PATH\MXPCI4BT.LAN SLOT=23
:LOAD C:\PATH\MXPCI4BT.LAN SLOT=24
(where C: is the primary drive and PATH is the directory)
2. Load the VNET.LAN device driver using the following
command.
:LOAD C:\PATH\VNET.LAN
(where C: is the primary drive and PATH is the directory)
3. Bind all active ports to the protocol using a common network
number, such as:
:BIND IPX VNET NET=2
You can load multiple instances of VNET.LAN to create multiple
VNETs. The command line syntax for loading multiple VNETs is
described in “Sample AUTOEXEC.NCF Files” on page 53.
Frame types, other than the default frame type, specified when
loading MXPCI4BT.LAN must also be specified when loading
VNET.LAN. The VNET.LAN load command will fail if the proper
frame types are not specified. The following example shows how to
create a VNET that supports multiple frame types.
